Head of Tax

ClickUp is seeking a Head of Tax that has strengths in developing comprehensive, end-to-end tax planning and compliance strategies. This individual has a strong and balanced understanding of the tax rules, internal controls, and what great tax process looks like at a SaaS company.The ideal Head of Tax understands the importance of tax operations and has prior experience in working with finance, legal and cross-functional teams to build strong tax processes using automation tools and their tax expertise. If you/'re a proactive, flexible, and detail-oriented go-getter that thrives when faced with new challenges...this role is meant for you!ResponsibilitiesHands on role, leading the Company’s tax department, managing all aspects of tax compliance and tax accounting for the Company.Work across a broad spectrum of tax disciplines, including tax provision, international tax, US tax, state and local, indirect taxes, compensation and transfer pricing.Oversee, coordinate and manage the Company’s third-party tax providers, ensuring that all tax-related issues are identified, communicated and resolved in a timely manner.Partnering with business and finance leadership to execute global tax strategies.Review of new legislation, filing, and reporting standards to ensure compliance and provide analysis on rates, accruals, and other financial data.Resolve notices from tax authoritiesManage US sales tax and global indirect taxes in Avalara, coordinating registration of new jurisdictions, filing and payment of US sales and indirect taxes.Prepare month end close tax accrual journal entries and reconciliations.Oversee cross functional tax projects including R&D credit studies and section 382 ownership change analyses.Assist in setting tax strategy for planned M&A activity.Work closely with the broader accounting team in setting up recording and reconciling monthly activities within the company/'s Netsuite general ledgerQualifications10+ years of tax experience with a mix of Big 4 and in-house experienceBachelor’s degree in Accounting, Taxation preferredOutstanding analytical, organization and project management skillsStrong tax compliance background and advanced tax technical and research skillsInternational expansion experience is a plusProven ability to work with external partnersSalary and BenefitsAt ClickUp, we believe in transparency and fairness in compensation.
