The company is founder-led, profitable, and growing, with a distributed team of 1200+ colleagues in 75+ countries.The Public Cloud Project Manager will focus on customer relationship management and advocacy for Canonical's technical assets. This role is ideal for a technologist passionate about Linux and Project Management, eager to build a career at Canonical. The role involves managing key Tier 1 Enterprise Public Cloud accounts, collaborating with teams from Software Engineering to Senior Executives, and overseeing multiple projects, ensuring they meet goals and deadlines.Periodic international travel is required. The position is remote and based in the Americas region.Responsibilities include:Delivering programs within schedule, scope, cost, and resource expectations.Identifying and mitigating technical and project risks.Maintaining strong customer focus and stakeholder engagement.Conducting status meetings and business reviews.Managing delivery schedules and third-party deliverables.Managing cross-organizational engineering requests.Advocating Canonical technologies to customers.Qualifications:Proven experience in IT Cloud project management, software development, or related roles.Deep understanding of Linux, open source, and public cloud.Software engineering experience.Excellent communication skills in English.Experience leading remote, cross-cultural teams.Strong negotiation and influencing skills.Bachelor's degree in STEM.Project Management certification (PMP or equivalent).Agile/Scrum certification.Willingness to travel domestically and internationally.What we offer:Distributed work environment with periodic in-person team sprints.Learning and development budget of USD 2,000/year.Annual compensation review and performance prehensive benefits including leave, parental leave, wellness programs, and travel opportunities.About Canonical:Canonical is at the forefront of open source innovation, publishing Ubuntu and supporting AI, IoT, and cloud platforms.
