Sr. Data Scientist, Global Engineering Insights & Software Tools (GEIST)Join to apply for the Sr. Data Scientist, Global Engineering Insights & Software Tools (GEIST) role at Amazon.Job DescriptionWould you like to be part of a team that's building the future of data-driven decision making for Global Engineering Services (GES)?The Analytics & Data Engineering (ADE) team within GEIST (Global Engineering Insights & Software Tools) is seeking a talented senior Data Scientist to help establish and grow our data science capabilities. You'll be instrumental in developing predictive analytics solutions that drive better decision-making across GES operations, with initial focus on project delivery risk management and cost optimization.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign and implement machine learning models for predicting project timeline and cost variations.Build ML-driven data quality monitoring capabilities across our Data Lakehouse infrastructure.Collaborate with software, data, and BI engineers and product managers to integrate ML solutions into GEIST's data and software products.Create and share technical papers and presentations with audiences of varying levels.Partner with business stakeholders to translate operational challenges into data science solutions.Deal with ambiguity, prioritize needs, and deliver results in a dynamic environment.About The TeamThe GEIST team serves as the software solution team to all Global Engineering needs, working with its customers to set a consolidated Tech strategy, and prioritizing investments to best serve their needs and our bottom line. The team maintains a large product suite ranging from Planning & Forecasting applications to in-flight management of field execution users, leveraged by thousands globally.Minimum Qualifications5+ years of experience with data querying languages (e.g., SQL), scripting languages (e.g., Python), or statistical software (e.g., R, SAS, Matlab).4+ years of data scientist experience.Experience with statistical models such as multinomial logistic regression.Bachelor's degree.Preferred Qualifications2+ years of experience with data visualization tools like AWS QuickSight, Tableau, R Shiny, etc.Experience managing data pipelines.Leadership and mentoring experience in a data science team.Amazon is an equal opportunity employer and values diversity.
