Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.DescriptionThis is a critical role responsible for the design, implementation, maintenance, and security of the organization's network infrastructure, with a focus on systems and protocols analogous to those found in Navy communications environments. This position requires an individual with a deep understanding of network engineering principles and a proven track record of success in managing complex network systems. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in Navy communications network engineering and be able to immediately contribute to the team with no training or onboarding.Designing, configuring, and implementing network infrastructure solutions, including LANs, WANs, VPNs, and wireless networksProviding expert-level troubleshooting and resolution of network issues, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal network performanceConducting proactive network monitoring and performance analysis to identify and resolve potential problems before they impact usersImplementing and maintaining network security measures, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and access controls, to protect the organization's data and systemsConducting regular security audits and vulnerability assessments, addressing any identified weaknessesLeveraging extensive knowledge of Navy communications protocols, systems, and architectures to ensure seamless integration and interoperability with existing infrastructureMaintaining accurate and up-to-date network documentation, including network diagrams, configurations, and proceduresPreparing regular reports on network performance, security incidents, and other relevant metricsActing in and leading integrated process teams as well as coordinating and communicating customer requirementsUtilizing hands-on experience with the following:TCP/IP, routing protocols (e.g., OSPF, BGP), switching technologies, and network security principlesConfiguring and managing network devices, such as routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points (Cisco, Juniper, etc.)Network monitoring and analysis tools (e.g., SolarWinds, Wireshark)Navy communications systems, protocols, and architectures (e.g., CANES, ADNS, and SATCOM communications)Strong understanding of network security best practices and compliance requirementsExcellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skillsAbility to diagnose and resolve complex network issues quickly and effectivelyFILLING THIS POSITION IS CONTINGENT UPON FUNDING#LI-JC1RequirementsTechnical bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems management, mathematics, or similarActive Secret clearanceIdeal certifications: CCNA / CCNP, Security+ or higherMinimum five (5) years of experience in the design, installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and management of complex network systems that typically link numerous computing platforms, operating systems, and network topologiesMinimum three (3) years of broad and diverse background experience in business analysis, applications/systems engineering, and information operations and architectureMinimum three (3) years of experience designing, testing, and implementing interface programs, developing security procedures, and managing network performancesMinimum three (3) years of experience in troubleshooting and resolving complex problems to ensure no disruption of mission-critical applicationsHands on experience and thorough understanding of the following:Navy (or similar) architecture frameworks and business/acquisition processesDoD information assurance and cyber policiesVirtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V)Cloud-based networking solutions (e.g., AWS, Azure)Desired SkillsExperience with the functions and capability of the Automated Digital Network System (ADNS)Experience in network integration with Surface Afloat ADNSExperience with Surface Ashore ADNS configurations will be requiredVCP or similar certificationClearance InformationSRC IS A CONTRACTOR FOR THE U.S. GOVERNMENT, THIS POSITION WILL REQUIRE U.S. CITIZENSHIP AS WELL AS, A U.S. GOVERNMENT SECURITY CLEARANCE AT THE SECRET LEVELTravel RequirementsCONUS/OCONUS - 10%About UsScientific Research Corporation is an advanced information technology and engineering company that provides innovative products and services to government and private industry, as well as independent institutions.
