Sr. DevOPS Engineer

Jobs Bridge works closely with a large number of IT organizations in the most in-demand technology skill sets.Job DescriptionWe are seeking a candidate with a clear understanding of practices related to the development of a DevOps-based release platform.The ideal candidate will have experience in transitioning to DevOps practices, including understanding best practices, implementation strategies (e.g., GIT branch strategies), integration strategies, and analysis of related tools.Familiarity and practical experience with continuous practices are required.Proficiency in automation and provisioning frameworks, primarily Ansible (Salt and Chef experience may suffice), is essential.Experience in developing and automating deployment tools to support IAAS platforms such as AWS and Rackspace is required.Knowledge of associated software deployment tools such as SCM (GIT), CI tools (Jenkins), Artifact repositories (Artifactory), and issue management tools (JIRA, Confluence, Crowd) is necessary.Working knowledge of scripting languages like Python and Bash is required.Familiarity with software tools such as Maven and Gradle is also important.Experience supporting Test Driven Development and Agile methodologies is preferred.Designing best practices for build and release processes and tooling is part of the role.Automating steps in build and release systems and overseeing daily build execution for various systems/releases are key responsibilities.Leading agile practice implementation for the project SDLC is expected.Experience with Cloud and Virtualization products is desirable.Advanced experience with automation tools and best practices is required.QualificationsMinimum 8 years of work experience in sys-admin and release management.Solid understanding of CI best practices and tooling, specifically Jenkins.Strong experience with Git-like DVCS systems and their use in release management, branching, merging, and integration strategies.Extensive experience in building JAVA Web/Mobile Systems.Proficiency with Solaris and Linux operating systems.Detailed knowledge of Configuration Management discipline.Self-starter with the ability to lead processes and projects.Thorough knowledge of scripting with Bash/Shell, Perl, and Python.Strong organizational, communication skills, and attention to detail.BSc/MS Degree in Computer Science or a similar technical field.Additional QualificationsExperience with DevOps practices, deployment tools supporting IAAS platforms such as AWS and Rackspace. #J-18808-Ljbffr
