Our customers use teams of heterogeneous vehicles that can sense the world, move around, and coordinate to achieve their objectives given high-level plans from an operator. We are building a mission autonomy platform that is deployed on a variety of robotics platforms from high-end autonomous jets and large underwater autonomous vehicles through to smaller rotary wing aircraft, and everything in between. Every mission demands a different set of payloads, and our mission autonomy software must be flexible enough to allow users to build behaviors that make the best use of the specific sensors & payloads available.Core to our autonomy software is distributed systems, such as teams and swarms of assets coordinating to achieve higher level goals, and network meshes that require dynamic channel configuration to ensure assets can communicate. We’re looking to grow our architecture further along these axes, and you’ll have the chance to not only drive these APIs both for internal and 3rd party usage, but also build the model implementations that will see widespread usage throughout the company as well.WHAT YOU’LL DODesign and implement architectural components such as distributed planning and network configuration, that enable distributed scaled autonomySolicit and incorporate feedback from end users of the APIs and implementations, and collaborate with adjacent engineering teams to help make the product vision a realityDevelop and improve our APIs for commanding and controlling teams of autonomous vehicles.Create and maintain APIs, SDKs, and documentation for production softwareTest and validate features through unit testing, simulation testing, and software-in-the-loop testing.Drive the future of the Anduril and 3rd party robot ecosystem by working on the software at the center of all interactions between the operator and the vehicles.REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS5+ years of experience in software engineering, with a focus on distributed systems and multi-agent autonomyExperience with API design and ProtobufExperience with both C++ and PythonStrong communication skills and an ability to work effectively with cross-functional teamsMust be a U.S. Person due to required access to U.S. export controlled information or facilitiesPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSFamiliarity with networkingFamiliarity with roboticsUS Salary Range$138,000 - $252,000 USDThe salary range for this role is an estimate based on a wide range of compensation factors, inclusive of base salary only.
