Our mission is to create exceptional developer experiences by building tooling that makes it easier for our engineers to write, test, and deploy code.Our core responsibility is to support the deployment of hundreds of microservices by building intuitive and reliable CI/CD tooling that follows best practices. We also build and operate our Internal Developer Platform (built with Backstage) and several other tools used daily by our engineering team.We sit at the critical intersection of infrastructure and product development.You're a Great Fit For This Role If:You're energized by making other developers more productive: You take satisfaction in seeing your fellow engineers succeed through the tools you create.You want to work with both code and infrastructure: You’re ready to solve the problem at hand, whether it requires writing code on an IDE, running commands on a terminal window, or browsing a cloud dashboard.You enjoy a variety of challenges: You love having weeks where you need to be deep in programming, and others where you are troubleshooting failed deployments.You use AI in your daily work: You are fully embracing AI capabilities to assist with responsibilities like coding, document writing, and more.Minimum Qualifications5+ years of experience as a software or platform engineerStrong programming skills in an object-oriented language and experience building backend systems, APIs, or developer toolsExperience developing and running applications with Docker or other container runtimesAvailability to work during core team hours, 9 am to 12 pm ESTAbility to participate in 12-hour on-call shifts as requiredPreferred QualificationsExperience with cloud-native container runtimes technologies like KubernetesExperience with GitOps deployment technologies like Argo CD or Flux CDExperience with Cloud Infrastructure technologies like Terraform and AWSYou love to seek and implement internal customer feedback to make our products betterYou are a self-starter and can define a problem and work towards a solution independentlyAbility to bridge the gap between application development and infrastructure managementResponsibilities:Design and develop tools and services that improve developer productivity and experienceConfigure and maintain CI/CD pipelines to support seamless deployment processesBuild and enhance our Internal Developer Platform to streamline development workflowsCreate automation solutions for repetitive development and deployment tasksWork with development teams to identify and address pain points in their workflowsImplement systems that make infrastructure more accessible to product developersApply software engineering best practices to infrastructure code and toolingCollaborate across teams to ensure developer tools integrate well with our technology stackMeasure and optimize the effectiveness of developer toolingStay current with emerging technologies and practices in developer experience and platform engineeringParticipate in on-call activities to support the stability of our productsWhy Join Us?At SpotOn, you’ll be part of a team that values diversity, creativity, and a shared mission to help small businesses succeed.
