Sentinel Manager Software Engineering 3 - 15586 - R10203985Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a Software Engineering Manager 3 to support the Sentinel (GBSD) program in Huntsville, AL. This full-time position may offer relocation assistance. Clearance required: Top Secret. Travel: 10%.ResponsibilitiesAssess staffing needs, current and projected, and work with team leads to address those needs.Support recruitment activities including creation of requisitions, conducting interviews, and approving offers.Establish personal program and functional goals and perform quarterly connections and merit adjustments for subordinates.Provide subordinates with career development recommendations, mentoring, discipline as necessary.Acquire the necessary computers, equipment, and tools to enable subordinates to perform their work.Generate training plans based on the program and subordinates’ needs.Provide regular flow down of company and organizational status and appropriately represent the Software Engineering organization to their group, assigned project, and the company.Technical ResponsibilitiesWork in an engineering leadership role that executes all facets of building complex software in an Agile development environment.Perform engineering activities, focusing on software, across the full spectrum from conceptual design to system deployment.Define, implement, and verify software capabilities and tools supporting novel technologies and applications.Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to define technical architectures for software-intensive systems.Lead and collaborate the development of technical requirements and synthesize software architectures.Collaborate in the development of technical requirements and software architectures.Conduct architecture and design reviews.Participate in integration and testing.Aid in developing documentation and briefing material.BenefitsMedical, Dental & Vision coverage401kEducational AssistanceLife InsuranceEmployee Assistance Programs and Work/Life SolutionsPaid Time OffHealth and Wellness ResourcesEmployee DiscountsThe position uses a 9/80 work schedule: nine hours per day, Monday through Thursday, with every other Friday off. Relocation assistance may be available.You’ll Bring These QualificationsBachelor’s Degree and 8 years of experience supporting U.S. Government contracts and customers, or an additional 4 years of experience in lieu of degree.Active DoD Top Secret Clearance adjudicated in the last 6 years with ability to obtain SAP.5 years of experience supporting and/or managing Space and/or Defense programs.Experience managing programs from concept through design, prototyping, manufacturing, integration, and delivery.3+ years demonstrated success leading teams and/or organizations to achieve a common goal.Experience with Earned Value Management (EVM) methodologies and tools (Earned Value Management System).Experience managing programs with restricted/classified customers and understanding of restricted infrastructure and networks.2 years of capture and/or customer facing experience.Preferred QualificationsExperience in the Software Development Life Cycle.The ability to recognize and respond to customer needs in order to develop additional sales that support organizational objectives.The ability to define proposal strategy, lead proposal teams, analyze and shape RFPs, produce and deliver winning proposals, effectively track and incorporate Review Team comments and findings, and manage post-proposal submittals.2 years operating in a fast paced, highly dynamic environment.5 years of experience leading the performance of tasks on schedule, at cost and achieving all requirements as either project lead, integrated program team or cost account manager.Primary Level Salary Range: $178,500.00 - $267,700.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate’s experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
