DescriptionSAIC is seeking a clearedIT Platform Engineer/Administrator to lead the deployment, configuration, and sustainment of secure, mission-critical infrastructure and communication systems for a new Navy C4I lab. This position will require engineering experience and rigor to help design and build the network server/platform environment, to include support sustainment activities once completed. Additionally, this individual must be willing to learn/support network transport engineering/sustainment activities as they come online (e.g., switch/router/firewall configuration & support), working in concert with IT Network Engineers. Individual must be willing to be a cross-functional team member.You will design, implement, and manage a classified lab environment supporting Command and Control (C2), secure communications, and data exchange across tactical and enterprise networks. This role also involves integration with coalition partner systems to enhance joint interoperability and mission success.Job Summary:Work is primarily performed on site in San Diego, CA and has some hybrid remote flexibility. You must live in the local area to frequently come on site.Responsibilities:Provide Tier I–III support for end-user devices (thin/zero clients, laptops, collaboration systems) in a classified environmentSet up, configure, and sustain a mixed server/client environment incorporating both Windows/Linux server operating systemsSupport both virtualized and hybrid cloud environmentsConfigure and maintain C2 application servers (DNS, chat, email) and unified communications platformsIntegrate, configure, and sustain coalition communication systems such as Link 16, Link 22, TTNT, MIDS-JTRS, and Mission Partner Environment (MPE) for joint and combined operationsSupport interoperability with systems like CENTRIXS, CJSMPT, and NATO Improved Link 11 (NILE) as required for mission objectivesImplement and manage timing and synchronization devices to ensure network integrityCollaborate with cybersecurity teams to implement STIGs and maintain systems in continuous ATO complianceDevelop comprehensive technical documentation, network diagrams, and system support guidesServe as a key point of contact with government stakeholders and coalition partners for lab buildout and operationsPlease view our Program page for more information and to view all open positions available:Skills and Experience:4+ years of direct IT systems engineering, networking, or cybersecurity experience supporting DoD or federal systemsHands-on experience with:Server/endpoint hardening and DISA STIG implementationFamiliarity with Red Hat Linux, Windows Server, and virtualization environmentsFamiliar with cloud/hybrid-cloud environments with either AWS/AzureStrong knowledge of DISA STIGs and the DoD RMF/ATO processExperience working with encryption devices, network timing, and classified communications systemsProven ability to operate independently in a mission-critical, high-pressure environmentHands-on integration or operational experience with coalition tactical data links or mission partner networks such as Link 16, Link 22, TTNT, MIDS-JTRS, MPE, or NILEProven ability to operate independently in a mission-critical, high-pressure environmentPreferred Skills and Experience:Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA)VMware Certified Professional (VCP)AWS Certified Cloud PractitionerWindows Server Hybrid Administrator AssociateExperience with naval or coalition maritime operations and communications systemsFamiliarity with DoD architecture frameworks and system acquisition lifecyclePrior experience supporting joint or coalition networkStrong system documentation, diagramming, and technical leadership skillsEducation and Certification Requirements:Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Information Technology, or a related technical fieldMusthold at least oneIAT Level II/III certification (per DoD 8570/8140), such as:Security+ CE (CompTIA)CySA+CASP+CISSPRed Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA)Citizenship and Clearance Requirement:Active Secret or Top Secret Clearance requiredU.S. Citizenship requiredTarget salary range: $120,001 - $160,000.
