Experienced Software Engineering Manager to lead our development team based in India. This role is ideal for a technology leader with a solid foundation in software development, and team leadership. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving end-to-end software delivery, from requirement gathering to deployment, while ensuring alignment with business goals and technical excellence.Primary Responsibilities:Technical LeadershipArchitect and design scalable, secure, and high-performance applicationsProvide hands-on technical guidance across frontend Portals, APIs, and database layersChampion best practices in software engineering, including code quality, testing, and CI/CDOwn areas of responsibility and applications from security, architecture, production, CI/CD, production roadmaps and Product lifecycle managementProject & Delivery ManagementOwn the full software development lifecycle (SDLC) for multiple projectsCollaborate with product managers, designers, and stakeholders to define project scope and timelinesLead development efforts to ensure work and projects progressTrack progress, manage risks, and ensure timely delivery of high-quality software solutionsTeam & People ManagementLead, mentor, and grow a team of software engineers through coaching and performance managementFoster a collaborative and inclusive team culture focused on innovation and continuous improvementConduct regular 1:1s, career development planning, and technical upskilling initiativesStakeholder Engagement & CommunicationAct as a key liaison between engineering and business teamsTranslate business requirements into technical specifications and actionable plansPrepare and present technical documentation, project updates, and architecture reviews to leadershipEnsure clear and proactive communication across all levels of the organizationComply with the terms and conditions of the employment contract, company policies and procedures, and any and all directives (such as, but not limited to, transfer and/or re-assignment to different work locations, change in teams and/or work shifts, policies in regards to flexibility of work benefits and/or work environment, alternative work arrangements, and other decisions that may arise due to the changing business environment). The Company may adopt, vary or rescind these policies and directives in its absolute discretion and without any limitation (implied or otherwise) on its ability to do soRequired Qualifications:8+ years of experience in software development, with 2+ years in a leadership or managerial roleSolid hands-on experience in:Frontend technologies (Angular, Blazor or similar)API development (RESTful services, .net)Database systems (SQL/NoSQL)Experience with version control systems like Git and repository management practicesExperience in Microsoft Azure cloud platform (App Services, Azure Functions, DevOps, etc.)Solid understanding of Agile methodologies and project management tools (Jira)Proven track record in application architecture and system designProven excellent verbal and written communication skillsPreferred Qualifications:Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related fieldAzure certifications (e.g., Azure Solutions Architect, Azure Developer Associate)At UnitedHealth Group, our mission is to help people live healthier lives and make the health system work better for everyone.
