Virtual Desktop Infrastructure Lead Engineer II

OverviewKPMG is currently seeking a Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) Engineer to join our Digital Nexus technology organization. This is a hybrid work opportunity.ResponsibilitiesWork closely with internal Virtualization Operations and Engineering teams to gather requirements and build/deploy appropriate tool; provide technical leadership in the development, integration, and testing of the Virtual Desktop Infrastructure, supporting multiple geographic locations, network enclaves, and virtual desktop poolsOffer input on the overall technology plan for the organization, ensuring specific technologies integrate effectively with other aspects of the network security technical infrastructure; collaborate and work effectively with different technology teams and vendors delivering complete networking solutionsDesign, upgrade, test, and modify the VDI environment based on capacity and utilization requirements; troubleshoot and correct detected or reported system and network faults or outages; maintain deep technical and business knowledge of current industry directions and trends; work to deliver technology and products in the roadmap on schedule, and with the highest qualityGive expert advice and guidance to carry out plans and procedures; ensure product development process adherence, performance and budget targets are met; deliver last tier support for operations and support teams, including root cause analysis and preventative analysisBuild configuration management, service provisioning, inventory management, resource management, process automation, visibility, and self-service tools; provide training and guidance to other members of the Virtualization Operations and Engineering teamsQualificationsMinimum seven years of recent experience in virtualization design and engineering while managing and supporting large scale projectsBachelor's degree from an accredited college or university is preferredCapable of designing new VDI environments and supporting technology solutions; must have experience with cloud hosted VDI solutionsSkills should include Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops, Citrix DaaS, Citrix NetScaler / ADC / VPX, Citrix Gateway Service, Citrix App Layering, Citrix XenServer, VMWare ESXi, good understanding of multi-site non-persistent and persistent VDI environments, strong working knowledge of networking equipment (switches, firewalls, proxy servers)Proficiency in PowerShell scripting for automation and systems managementAbility to create architectural and technical documentation for deployed solutions and knowledge transfer; Excellent troubleshooting skillsApplicants must be authorized to work in the U.S. without the need for employment-based visa sponsorship now or in the future; KPMG LLP will not sponsor applicants for U.S. work visa status for this opportunity (no sponsorship is available for H-1B, L-1, TN, O-1, E-3, H-1B1, F-1, J-1, OPT or any other employment-based visa)DetailsSeniority levelMid-Senior levelEmployment typeFull-timeJob functionGeneral BusinessKPMG LLP (the U.S. member firm of KPMG International) is an equal opportunity employer.
