In this role, you'll lead the technical direction of our user-facing products, focusing on building scalable, responsive applications that handle complex data visualizations and interactions for data discovery, data quality, and data governance. You'll work at the intersection of technical excellence and user experience, ensuring our platform maintains sub-second response times while processing large datasets.Key ResponsibilitiesArchitect, build, and lead the development of high-performance web applications with a focus on scalability and user experienceCollaborate with product, design, and backend teams to deliver seamless user experiencesDrive technical decisions and architecture choices that enable rapid product iteration while maintaining system reliabilityEstablish performance metrics and optimization strategies for complex data visualizations and interactionsMentor and guide a team of engineers, fostering best practices in code quality, testing, and performance optimizationLead code reviews and technical discussions to ensure high-quality implementationRequired Qualifications8+ years of full-stack engineering experience, with at least 3 years in a technical leadership roleProven track record of building and scaling consumer-facing web applications that handle significant user trafficDeep expertise in React, TypeScript, a JS testing framework (cypress, enzyme, react-testing), and modern frontend architecture patternsStrong experience with performance optimization, including code splitting, lazy loading, and state managementExpertise in GraphQL and frameworks like Apollo, with experience optimizing query performance and caching strategiesExperience with real-time data visualization and complex UI interactionsStrong background in building and maintaining microservices architectureTrack record of leading architectural decisions and technical initiativesExperience mentoring engineers and driving technical excellence within teamsFamiliarity with tools in the modern data and ML ecosystemPreferred QualificationsExperience working with DataHub is a huge plus!Previous experience at an early stage startupKnowledge of data governance and security best practicesTrack record of implementing data quality frameworksContributing to open-source projectsIf you're passionate about technology, enjoy working with customers, and want to be part of a fast-growing company changing the industry, we want to hear from you!Location and CompensationBay Area (hybrid, 3 days in Palo Alto office)Salary Range: $225,000 to $300,000Benefits and PerksWe invest in people so they can do their best work and enjoy doing it.
