Expert Software Engineer, Graphics - Raven Software (Remote)Join to apply for the Expert Software Engineer, Graphics - Raven Software (Remote) role at Activision Blizzard.Job Title: Expert Software Engineer, Graphics - Raven Software (Remote)Requisition ID: R024664Your MissionAs an Expert Graphics Engineer you will be optimizing, enhancing, and developing new rendering systems on top of the foundation of Call of Duty’s AAA engine technology. You will collaborate with graphics engineers across studios. You will define and shape our graphics technology to keep Call of Duty on the visual cutting-edge. You will develop graphics systems for shipping products and improve workflows for the development team. You will write efficient and clean C/C++ and shader code. Qualified candidates will have a background in graphics engine development and related subsystems, including fluency with modern graphics techniques, GPUs, graphics APIs, shaders, multi-threading, memory management, performance, and optimizations. This position is eligible for remote work.ResponsibilitiesDevelop, modify, optimize, and debug rendering engine systemsDeploy, evaluate performance, and test software on all supported platformsCommunicate features and development with production, engineering, design, and art teamsParticipate in the performance and code review processContribute to the design and roadmap of industry-leading AAA graphics engine technologyCollaboration and co-development with other engineering and art teamsReport to the Lead Graphics EngineerQualifications12+ years of experience working in the game industry or related fieldExperience developing and optimizing graphics systemsUnderstanding of computer architecture, GPUs, multithreading, and memory systemsStrong programming background in C/C++Experience writing shaders (HLSL or equivalent)Development experience with a current generation platform (console, PC, and/or mobile)Familiarity with modern graphics APIs (PS4/PS5, D3D12, Vulkan, etc.)Solid debugging and profiling skills on both the CPU and GPUStrong background in 3D mathKnowledge & SkillsBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or Math related fieldDemonstrated ability to write efficient, readable, and reliable codeKey AttributesProven ability to collaborate, coordinate, communicate and support other team membersCreative, motivated, focused, passionate, results-orientedPassion for games and graphics technologyExtra Points / Nice-to-HavesExperience with GPU ComputeFamiliarity with physically based rendering/lighting and/or raytracingExperience with modern consoles, profilers and toolchainsBackground in collaborating and iterating with artists on graphics featuresPeople, Platform & CompanyFounded in 1990 by brothers Brian and Steve Raffel, Raven Software is a studio focused on crafting games with a history including Hexen, Star Wars Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast, Marvel: Ultimate Alliance, and major contributions to Call of Duty.
