What You'll Do Lead Architecture & Technical Execution: Functionally decompose highly complex, ambiguous infrastructure-related problems and address them with simple, actionable solutions. Organize high level objectives and input from cross-functional stakeholders into roadmaps that are properly resourced. Innovate: Identify new opportunities and emerging technologies that could enhance our infrastructure, product, and ROI, driving meaningful business impact and customer outcomes. Scale & Optimize Core Systems: Build robust, scalable, and reliable systems. Collaborate with leadership and cross-functional teams to tackle challenging problems and optimize performance for large volumes of healthcare data. Mentor and Develop Engineering Talent: Support career development, share expertise, improve processes, and foster a culture of learning and excellence. Who You Are Bachelors or Masters of Science in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Math or a related field. Technical qualifications: 10+ years of experience building software of significant scale and complexity Mastery of software development, systems design/architecture, and coding Expertise in scaling systems and knowing when to build vs. buy Experience with observability, logging, asynchronous event-driven workflows, and distributed systems Deep understanding of Postgres databases and scaling approaches (sharding/partitioning, query optimization, migration safety) Strong technical vision for enduring, scalable architectures Leadership qualifications: History of delivering major business outcomes end-to-end, influencing priorities, and guiding projects to completion Ability to make principled trade-offs on scope and prioritization Behavioral qualifications: Ability to manage ambiguity and deliver results in challenging contexts Customer-first mindset and commitment to learning and teaching others Clear and concise communication, both written and verbal Operational excellence mindset Experience with the technologies we use is a plus but not required: Google Cloud Platform, BigQuery, PostgreSQL, Metabase, Terraform, Python. The listed range is a guideline and the actual base salary may be modified based on factors including skills, experience, interview performance, and market data. Total compensation may include equity, and employee benefits.
