Software Test Engineer

OverviewLocation: Remote workNode is looking for a Software Test Engineer to provide testing support as a member of an integrated agile project development and testing team. The tester will work with other developers and testers to test custom developed software as required. The tester will also participate in project release planning and ensure that testing supports inception through delivery and ongoing maintenance.The tester will play a key role for a highly secured system for a government agency. Experience with payment systems, trading systems or other highly secure transactional systems would be highly valuable. The role requires self-motivation and a passion for solving technical problems.Job ResponsibilitiesAnalyze complex requirements and design documents to develop detailed, step-by-step manual test casesExecute manual test cases, document actual results, review results, and report anomalies in the defect tracking databaseDevelop and update automation scripts to meet new functionalitiesExecute automated test scripts, report results, and identify unsuccessful executionsExecute Load/Performance testing by running load test scripts and generating reportsTrack defects from creation to closure; document defect details and work with developers to reproduceDeploy software to test environments and monitor server logs to identify errors or unexpected entriesParticipate in test case peer reviews and ensure test cases meet client requirements and verify functionalityAssist test lead with release test plan, RTM generation, regression test database maintenance, and end-of-phase test reportsAssist in internal quality assurance checks on deliverables to ensure completeness and adherence to client standardsIntegrate automated tests into the CI/CD pipeline for continuous testing and deliveryCollaborate with DevOps to ensure seamless automation within build and deployment processesEnsure comprehensive test coverage through automated test casesProvide assistance to business analysts with requirements and to developers with technical requirementsQualificationsBachelor's degree in computer science or related field (4 years experience in lieu of degree)5 years total IT experience3+ years of experience as a software test engineerProven experience as an SDET, QA Engineer, or similar role with a focus on test automationHands-on experience with automated testing tools and frameworks (e.g., Selenium, TestNG, JUnit, Cucumber)Strong knowledge of Software Testing Lifecycle / Testing MethodologiesAbility to analyze complex requirements and design documents to create detailed test cases and scriptsExperience in test management tools (e.g., Quality Center or similar)Experience with automation scripting tools (e.g., Unified Functional Testing, Selenium)Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts and frameworks for functional, regression, and performance testingBasic knowledge of SQLExperience with configuration management and version control tools (e.g., Atlassian suite, JIRA, Subversion)Excellent oral and written communication skillsAbility to work productively in a dynamic, deadline-driven environmentExcellent organizational, presentation, and business analysis skillsKnowledge of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)Security Clearance RequirementsMust be a U.S. citizen OR Permanent Resident Alien (Green card holder)Ability to obtain an IRS MBI Security Clearance from the Federal Agency (Active IRS MBI Clearance is highly desirable)BenefitsMedicalDentalVisionBasic LifeHealth Saving Account401KThree weeks of PTO10 Paid HolidaysPre-Approved Online Training #J-18808-Ljbffr
