Lead Software Engineer - Backend

The developer will profile and improve backend application performance, mentor team members, and take end-to-end technical ownership of applications. Staying updated with technological advances and leveraging new technologies is essential.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSContribute to backend design, technical direction, and architecture, collaborating with various teams.Participate in code reviews, identify and mitigate issues, and assist with continuous improvement.Design efficient, reusable backend systems for complex applications.Build reusable components and backend libraries for future use.Create testable, highly available applications and services with monitoring and alerting.Build cloud applications with Amazon Web Services (AWS).Translate designs and wireframes into high-quality code.Identify and resolve performance and scalability issues.Mentor less experienced team members.Collaborate with Product Designers, Product Managers, and Software Engineers to deliver compelling user-facing products.Perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.Perform other duties as assigned.QUALIFICATIONSBachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related engineering field, or equivalent experience.10+ years of experience in backend development.Experience with Node.js frameworks such as Express.js, Serverless Framework, NestJS.Familiarity with ECMAScript and Typescript specifications.Experience with data structure libraries (e.g., Immutable.js).Understanding asynchronous programming and related workarounds.Knowledge of server-side templating languages.Experience with RESTful APIs (Axios) and GraphQL.Understanding of concurrency, parallelism, event-driven architecture.Experience with technologies like Redis, Elasticsearch, NoSQL, RDBMS, Queues, Event Bus, Cloud Functions.Knowledge of modern authorization mechanisms such as JSON Web Tokens, OAuth2, AWS Cognito, Keycloak.Familiarity with build pipelines and tools.Ability to translate business requirements into technical designs.Proficiency with Git version control.Strong written and verbal communication skills.Excellent team player.BenefitsCross Country Healthcare offers a competitive compensation and benefits package including Medical, Dental, Vision Insurance, Life Insurance, Disability Insurance, Voluntary Insurance, 401(k), Tuition Assistance, and Pet Insurance.Cross Country Healthcare is an Equal Opportunity Employer - M/F/Veteran/Disability. #J-18808-Ljbffr
