OverviewPosition: Data Director at Florida Democratic Party. Full-time. Responsible for managing the party’s data team, administering VAN, producing reports, and training staff, candidates, elected officials, and partners on data best practices. The data department supports targeting for voter outreach, tracking progress to goals across Ground Team departments, and protecting data with robust tools and training.Primary ResponsibilitiesAdminister Florida’s VAN VoteBuilder databaseLead the Data Team, currently including a Voter File Manager, and provide training, documentation, office hours, and helpdesk support to VAN usersMeet with local parties and caucuses to discuss needs and implement workable solutionsImplement systems for data sharing and access within VAN for various organization typesAssist the Field, Voter Registration, and Candidates & Campaigns departments with data needsCoordinate with staff on the creation, execution, and analysis of targeted voter contact universesWork with state and national stakeholders to build voter contact and volunteer recruitment universesCollaborate across departments to design and build reports that track state programmingDevelop, maintain, and implement data standards to ensure accurate tracking and analysis of programsCoordinate with partners to share voter contact data and proactively support planning direct voter contact and communications with stakeholdersSkills and RequirementsExperience with VAN/VoteBuilder as both a user and an administratorFamiliarity with advanced spreadsheet formulas and conditional formattingAbility to communicate technical information to a wide audience in a clear, succinct mannerAt least 1 cycle of prior experience as data staff on a campaign or at a state partyProficient working with data in SQL (prefer Phoenix or BigQuery)Familiarity with Google Looker Studio, QGIS, Tableau or other data visualization toolsLogisticsPosition is based in Florida with most work being remote.
