This role is part of a dynamic and collaborative team that supports critical financial and operational systems across the enterprise.About The RoleWe are seeking a highly skilled Applications Lead specializing in SAP FICO (Financial Accounting and Controlling) to play a pivotal role in bridging Finance, Accounting, Controlling, and IT teams. This position will lead the design and implementation of solutions across key SAP modules including GL, AP, AR, Banking, Fixed Assets, Taxation, and Special Purpose Ledger. Experience with Rights Management Systems and S/4HANA implementations is highly desirable. The ideal candidate will have strong cross-functional collaboration skills and a performance-driven mindset suited to a dynamic, fast-paced environment.Key ResponsibilitiesAnalyze business requirements and translate them into SAP FICO solutions in collaboration with developersLead design, testing, and implementation of SAP FICO configurations to support financial processesConfigure and maintain modules such as GL, AP, AR, Banking, Fixed Assets, Taxation, and Special Purpose LedgerPartner with Finance, Accounting, Rights Management, and Sales Operations to deliver tailored SAP solutionsManage enhancements, issue resolution, and continuous process improvements within the SAP FICO landscapeSupport finance-related projects and SAP system upgrades, ensuring operational integrityCreate detailed functional specs for enhancements, reports, and interfacesIntegrate SAP FICO with downstream systems like SAP IPM, BW, and BPCTrain end-users and develop clear process documentationSupport quarter-end and year-end close activities, ensuring compliance with audit requirementsDevelop and maintain specifications for RICEFW (Reports, Interfaces, Conversions, Enhancements, Forms, Workflows)Maintain data accuracy and integrity in financial and controlling systemsAct as a liaison between technical teams and business stakeholders to ensure clarity and alignmentQualificationsBachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Information Systems, or a related field (Advanced degree a plus)Minimum 7 years of hands-on SAP FICO experience across core modules (GL, AP, AR, Banking, Fixed Assets, Taxation, Special Purpose Ledger)Experience with SAP S/4HANA implementations preferredFamiliarity with Rights Management Systems and integration points with FICOKnowledge of related SAP modules (MM, SD) and Fiori apps related to FICOExperience in the media and entertainment industry is a plusStrong problem-solving, analytical, and interpersonal communication skillsAbility to thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced environment with limited supervisionConceptual thinker with the ability to deliver business-aligned and regulatory-compliant solutionsProven ability to work within global teams and achieve cross-functional outcomesCompensation$140,000 – $150,000BenefitsFull coverage: Medical, Vision, and DentalGenerous PTO: Vacation, Sick Days, Holidays, and Impact Day401(k) with company matchingTuition reimbursement (up to graduate degrees)Seniority levelMid-Senior levelEmployment typeFull-timeJob functionInformation TechnologyIndustriesIT Services and IT ConsultingReferrals increase your chances of interviewing at Burtch Works by 2xGet notified about new SAP Application Specialist jobs in Santa Monica, CA.We’re unlocking community knowledge in a new way.
