Data Analyst - Friedman School of NutritionOverview: The Feed the Future Food Systems for Nutrition Innovation Lab (FSN-IL) at Gerald J. and Dorothy R. Friedman School of Nutrition Science and Policy at Tufts University is conducting studies focused on assessing knowledge and responsibilities related to the MSNP (Multi-sectoral Nutrition Plan) III and commitments made by the Government of Nepal at the Nutrition 4 Growth (N4G) Summit and the United Nations Food Systems Summit in 2021. FSN-IL will also implement a food systems transformation monitoring tool alongside the nutrition governance study to evaluate policy implementation on food environments by national and provincial governments against international best practices, identifying major gaps in Nepal.What You'll Do: This grant-funded, limited-term position ends on September 30, 2024. The Data Analyst will support data collection efforts for survey and assessment studies, ensuring consistency and rigor. Responsibilities include downloading secondary data, monitoring data quality, developing and implementing data analysis plans, revising and maintaining data reports, and preparing summaries and reports. The role also involves designing databases for data coding and entry, managing data, conducting statistical analyses, and interpreting results to support research findings or business decisions.What We're Looking For: Basic requirements include a graduate degree in statistics, epidemiology, economics, data science, or a related quantitative field, with 1-3 years of relevant experience. Proficiency in data analysis software such as STATA (preferred), R, Nvivo, along with basic SAS/SPSS programming and data manipulation skills, is required. Strong analytical, critical thinking, math, and writing skills are essential. Preferred qualifications include experience working with large quantitative and qualitative datasets, especially related to nutrition and food systems policy studies. There may be opportunities for international travel to Nepal.Salary Range: Minimum $52,600; Midpoint $65,750; Maximum $78,900.
