As such, the Frontier AI team productizes the latest and greatest innovations in artificial intelligence such as large language models, large multi-modal language models, and edge multi-modal models for deployment into Anduril products, systems and business lines.About The JobThe Mission Software Engineer - Frontier AI role, in particular, focuses on infrastructure challenges as it pertains to the productization of frontier AI applications on edge and air gapped environments. At a high-level, the role is expected to specialize in build, performance, deployment, evaluation, hardware and related problems.What You'll DoOwn the software solutions that are deployed to customersLead the discovery, development, and implementation of workflows and tools for training and adapting LLMs to generate simulationsBuild and maintain test suites for evaluating LLM interactions with simulation environments (e.g., automated correctness and performance testing)Design, develop, and maintain evaluation pipelines for geospatially aware LLMs, including customized evals for spatial reasoning and location capabilityContribute to ongoing efforts to fine-tune LLMs for improved performance in simulation script generation and multi-modal input handlingDocument processes, findings, and results for internal knowledge transfer and external reportingRequired QualificationsComfortable scripting or coding in Python and/or Golang and have experience integrating models with external systems or APIsStrong engineering background from industry or school, ideally in areas/fields such as Computer Science, Software Engineering, Mathematics, or PhysicsAt least 3 years of experience creating and deploying production level softwareAt least 2 years of experience deploying and integrating LLMs into production softwareEligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Top Secret security clearancePreferred QualificationsBonus: experience with any type of modeling and simulation softwareExperience working in small teams such as a high-growth startupExperience with modern build and deployment tooling such as Nix and TerraformAbility to rapidly adapt and perform as a generalist when neededExperience with DOD Simulators (AFSIM, NGTS, etc.)US Salary Range$138,000—$252,000 USDBenefitsThe salary range for this role is an estimate based on a wide range of compensation factors, inclusive of base salary only. Actual salary offer may vary based on (but not limited to) work experience, education and/or training, critical skills, and/or business considerations.
