Apply via Dice today!RESPONSIBILITIES:Kforce's client in Melville, NY is seeking a Senior Cloud Architect who will support Migration from VMware Environment to OpenShift.REQUIREMENTS:VMware Expertise: In-depth knowledge of VMware infrastructure, including ESXi, vCenter, and related management toolsOpenShift Proficiency: Thorough understanding of OpenShift architecture, deployment, and managementContainerization: Experience with container technologies such as Docker and KubernetesCloud Platforms: Familiarity with major cloud providers (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and their integration with OpenShiftNetworking: Strong grasp of network protocols, configuration, and security within virtualized and containerized environmentsStorage Solutions: Knowledge of storage technologies and their integration with both VMware and OpenShiftSecurity: Expertise in implementing security best practices in both VMware and OpenShift environmentsMigration Planning: Ability to develop detailed migration plans, including risk assessment, timelines, and resource allocationData Migration: Experience in migrating data from VMware to OpenShift with minimal downtime and data lossApplication Refactoring: Knowledge of refactoring applications to run efficiently in containerized environmentsAutomation: Proficiency in using automation tools (e.g., Ansible, Terraform) for migration tasksTroubleshooting: Strong problem-solving skills to address issues that arise during migrationCommunication: Excellent communication skills to liaise with various stakeholders and report progressLeadership: Ability to lead and mentor a team of engineers throughout the migration processProject Management: Strong project management skills to ensure the migration is completed on time and within budgetAdaptability: Flexibility to adapt to changing requirements and unforeseen challenges during the migrationThe pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.Note: Pay is not considered compensation until it is earned, vested and determinable.
