Senior Principal Embedded Software EngineerSenior Principal Embedded Software Engineer1 day ago Be among the first 25 applicantsGet AI-powered advice on this job and more exclusive features.An aerospace client is looking for a Senior Principal Embedded Software Engineer who will support our SiAW program who with the desire to learn new technologies to join our innovative teams to help develop, enhance, and maintain software on cutting edge products and systems.Location: Northridge, CA 91324 (Onsite)Position: Senior Principal Embedded Software EngineerPay Rate: $42/hr. – $53.42/hr. on W2 (DOE)Duration: 12 months or longerSchedule: 9×80 AShift: 1st ShiftTRAVEL: Yes, 10% of the TimeResponsibilitiesResponsible for software engineering products for their team, including developing software products.Responsible for performing in-depth analysis and technical support of systems software products, including complex problem resolution, design, development, testing, operational integration, and user support.Supports the team that maintains, debugs, bugs, and configures related software products.Works from specifications to develop or modify embedded applications.Assists with design, coding, benchmark testing, debugging, and documentation of programs.Work with SEIT organization to decompose system requirements to good software-level requirements.Work with SEIT organization to drive system concepts, CONOPS, and Sequences.Work with SEIT organization to develop / update system external interfacesAuthor or assist with proposalsPerform software designSoftware product-level use cases and sequencesCreate and maintain software designAlgorithm Design Documents and Functional Design DocumentsBasic QualificationsUS Citizenship is required.Must currently hold or be able to obtain and maintain a U.S Department of Defense (DoD) Secret level security clearance8 Years with Bachelors in Science; 6 Years with Masters; 4 Years with PhDMust have a Bachelor of Science (B.S) degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or an equivalent STEM related discipline.Proficient in CProficient in Object Oriented programmingProficient in all areas of the formal software lifecycle process from requirements to testingExperience integrating low-level firmware and software in complex real-time multi-threaded embedded applicationsExperience with RTOS designs and implementing secure software for embedded systemsExperience with ARM architectures and peripheralsExperience using Jira/Bitbucket/Git and the Agile software development processPreferred QualificationsExperience with missile defense systems including launch, targeting and fire control systems.Wide knowledge of testing strategies in hardware and softwareHands-on experience with system/missile testingStrong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teamsFamiliarity with VHDL/Verilog/FPGAFamiliarity with PowerPC architectures and peripheralsAbout Our ClientOur client is a world leader and premier innovator in aerospace, with over 100,000 top talent employees providing the most advanced products and technologies in the industry.
