Join us and let's build the future.Job Summary:Belden is seeking a highly skilled wireless embedded software professional in our Belden Santa Clara office to work with the team to provide wireless solutions. We develop a diverse portfolio of in-chassis, gateway, edge and wireless products for the automation industry. The Wireless Software Engineer will be a collaborator with a team of dedicated engineers, as well as work with other engineering teams at Belden that are building advanced integrated solutions.What you will do:Our Wireless Software Engineer will help provide wireless solutions. This person needs to be a detail-oriented, technically skilled person, with C/C++ embedded wireless product development experience. They will have strongwireless networking experience, especially with large networks with multiple access points and large numbers of nodes.Participate in troubleshooting and triaging of issues to drive towards root cause identification and resolutionImplement code changes, document, unit test, and participate in code reviewsDesign and create unit test conditions and scripts to address business and technical use casesDevelop new product featuresCollaborate with the engineering team to propose solutionsInnovate and use existing tools and techniques to perform wireless network debuggingDocument, track and communicate issue status and resolution as appropriate, using JiraExperience with wireless test environments and equipmentEvaluate documentation associated to wireless communication industryEvaluate development activities (own and others) to provide guidance and process improvementsTranslate product requirements and functional specification into a design specificationProvide product technical information for other departmentsWhen assigned, coordinate / interface to other departments (Product Management, Technical Support) by providing guidance / education on requirements and solutionsWhat you will bring:Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering or equivalent.15 years experience with embedded C/C++ software development on linux10 years experience in wireless 802.11 driver and product development10 years experience Wireless network debugging10 years experience interfacing with low levelWiFi depth knowledge of WiFi standards and architectureExperience in automation-specific protocols, especially EtherNet/IP and Modbus a plusProven ability to manage / work on multiple projects in parallelLocation:Santa Clara, CA (Hybrid)Applicants can expect a base compensation range of $158,600 - $220,300plus benefits and additional incentives based on the level of the role. This is the reasonable estimate that Belden believes it might pay for this job based on applicable circumstances at the time of posting.
