Unix/Linux System Engineer

OverviewUnix/Linux System Engineer role at Trusted Concepts, Inc. (Two Six Technologies is referenced in the original description). The successful candidate will be responsible for provisioning, installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of systems hardware and software and related infrastructure. This role involves participating in the full process lifecycle from technical research to enable continuing innovation within the infrastructure through to application/product delivery. The position manages the functionality and efficiency of multiple Unix/Linux domains and supports Windows environments as noted.Key ResponsibilitiesLead the Unix/Linux team in performing duties, designing/architecting projects and future techStay current with new and emerging technologies and evaluate their applicabilityManage configuration and compliance of several Unix/Linux domainsMaintain server and system integrity and security through patch approval and processingEvaluate systems/services to move to the cloud and build automated scripts to perform those functionsInteract with users and evaluate vendor productsResearch and recommend hardware and software, coordinate installation and provide backup recoveryMonitor policies and standards for allocation of computing resourcesAutomate standard Unix/Linux tasks in PowerShell and leverage system automation tools to increase efficiencyOversee testing strategies, development environments and document resultsProvide advice and training to end-usersUse VMWare to build/maintain virtual machines and desktop presentations for usersOccasional evenings/weekends work as requiredMinimum QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related technical disciplineMinimum 10 years of related network engineering experience, or equivalent combination of education, certifications, and experienceExpertise in Active Directory architecture, management, and deep Group Policy deploymentProficiency in PowerShell scripting for automation and software packaging/deployment using SCCMExperience with VMWare ESXi, VMWare Horizon, and Citrix Virtual Desktop/ApplicationsKnowledge of PKI and certificate management for domainsAWS and Azure cloud experienceDesired QualificationsCentrify (Delinea) Server Suite and Privileged Access ServerAvamar backup softwareLinux knowledgeKnowledge of iSCSI and storage arraysNetworking skillsSecurity ClearanceActive TS/SCI with PolygraphCompensation and BenefitsTwo Six Technologies offers competitive compensation and a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurance, retirement benefits, paid leave, tuition assistance, and professional development opportunities.The projected salary range for this position is $200,000 - $240,000 USD annually; salary is determined by factors including education, experience, knowledge, skills, location, and organizational requirements.Salary Range: $200,000 - $240,000 USDOther InformationTwo Six Technologies is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
