We seek a Build Engineer to learn, maintain, and improve existing build systems technology as well as to configure development hardware and software for many different platforms.Responsibilities:Learn, maintain, and improve existing error checking scripts for games, viewers, and toolsLearn, maintain, and improve existing game and patch build scriptsSupport internally developed and enterprise (aka Visual Studio) development toolsMaintain software on build desktops and serversResearch and experiment with new technologies, tools, and techniquesConfigure and maintain development hardware (aka devkits)Configure game development software for various platforms (aka SDKs)Manage hardware inventory including desktops, monitors, dev hardware, etcAssist with hardware and software ordersAssist with onboarding and offboarding hires for San Diego StudioCreate software and support documentationRequirements:6 years of professional work experience in a technical fieldBachelor's Degree in a technical field and/or equivalent work experienceAbility to write, understand, and maintain batch and bash scripts (Powershell, Python, and other languages a plus)Ability to design and implement modular and easily extensible solutionsStrong organizational skillsPluses:Understanding of Windows, Mac OS, and LinuxExperience working with computer hardware and computer networkingExperience with using Perforce or other version control systemsExperience with Jenkins and CI/CD pipelinesKnowledge or experience with Games or the Game IndustryGeneral understanding of Baseball and the MLBPlease refer to our Candidate Privacy Notice for more information about how we process your personal information, and your data protection rights.At SIE, we consider several factors when setting each role’s base pay range, including the competitive benchmarking data for the market and geographic location.Please note that the base pay range may vary in line with our hybrid working policy and individual base pay will be determined based on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and addition, this role is eligible for SIE’s top-tier benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision, matching 401(k), paid time off, wellness program and coveted employee discounts for Sony products.
