It is the mission of the Ad Engineering Team to build this platform. We are hiring a Software Engineer to be a vital part of this mission. The ideal candidate will have endless curiosity and can pair a global mindset with locally relevant execution. The successful candidate will display a balance of hard and soft skills, including the ability to respond quickly to changing business needs.For California Only - The estimated annual salary for this position is between $126,000 - $276,000 pensation packages are based on factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, certifications, and specific geographical location.This role is eligible for health insurance, equity awards, life insurance, disability benefits, parental leave, wellness benefits, and paid time off.What you'll be doing:Work alongside a highly skilled engineering team to design, develop, and maintain large scale, highly performing, real-time applicationsOwn building features, driving directly with product and other engineering teamsDemonstrate excellent communication skills in working with technical and non-technical audiencesBe an evangelist for best practices across all functions – developers, QA, and infrastructure/opsBe an evangelist for platform innovation and reuseDeliver top-quality software in a timely fashionWe're excited if you have:4 - 8 years of experience building large scale and low latency distributed systemsB.S. or M.S. degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalentCommand of Java or C++Solid understanding of algorithms, data structures, performance optimization techniques, object-oriented programming, multi-threading, and real-time programmingExperience with distributed caching, SQL/NO SQL, and other databases is a plusExperience with Big Data and cloud services such as AWS/GCP is a plusExperience in advertising domain a big plusSelf-motivated individual with a high level of accountability and ownershipCritical thinking and practical decision makingCan do, results-oriented mindsetNonpolitical, collaborative, and team orientedDesire to win in a highly competitive industryBenefitsRoku is committed to offering a diverse range of benefits as part of our compensation package to support our employees and their families.
