Growing together.Primary Responsibilities:Influences the team designs and solutions. Mentors software engineers through code reviews and hands-on design sessions.Contributes meaningfully to code reviews of team members' work, providing collaborative guidance in areas of strength.Continues to receive guidance on own code reviews, primarily around solution refinement rather than overall direction. Able to explain implementation decisions and push back appropriately.Learns from feedback and applies it to future deliverables.Solves more complex problems involving APIs, Data Structures, Algorithms, or Application sequences. Designs solutions that are well integrated, testable, maintainable, and performant.Appropriately leverages existing solutions and adapts them for reuse.Leaves code in a better state than it was found.Aligns with sprint and program goals, selecting refactor opportunities to reduce tech corporates automation in testing, building, and deploying processes to enhance team troduces automation to replace manual repetitive corporates proactive monitoring, logging, and alerting into the definition of done.Owns prioritization of technical debt discovered during ticket resolution.Performs threat modeling and analysis on delivered components.Understands common security threats and patterns at both application and infrastructure layers, delivering secure solutions.Works with Product Management to ensure stories are well-defined, with appropriate acceptance criteria and sizing.Drives completion of deliverables with dependencies, ensuring on-time delivery.Helps unblock the team when facing obstacles.Limits work in progress by shipping features or deploying often.Decomposes features into manageable stories or tasks.Considers user experience, business impact, and solution objectives during development and design.Understands the financial implications of software, including costs and benefits for engineering and operations.Understands the business or financial impact of stability and resiliency.Spends time with users, delivering initiatives that drive value and improve NPS.Manages and is accountable for professional employees and/or supervisors.Impact of work is primarily at the local plies with employment contracts, company policies, and directives, including work location, shifts, and environment policies, which may change at the company's discretion.Required Qualifications:Graduate degree or equivalent experience.8+ years of software development experience.5+ years of experience with agile development methodologies.6+ years of experience with NodeJs, GraphQL, Kafka programming (Solid NodeJs knowledge).5+ years of experience with CI/CD processes.5+ years of experience with microservice development.3+ years of experience with Test-Driven Development and automated testing frameworks.3+ years of experience with cloud technologies such as OpenShift, AWS, Kubernetes, Docker, Github Actions, Terraform.3+ years of experience with Kafka Streaming.3+ years of experience with logging or monitoring tools like Splunk, Dynatrace, Grafana.Preferred Qualifications:Degree in computer science or equivalent.Experience in building AI agents, GitHub Copilot, LLMs, and GenAI.AWS Cloud experience.Healthcare domain knowledge.Experience in digital or consumer-focused application development.At UnitedHealth Group, our mission is to help people live healthier lives and make the health system work better for everyone.
