Network EngineerCooley is seeking a Network Engineer to join the Technology Engineering team within the Technology Infrastructure & Development Operations department.Position summary: As part of the Technology Network Engineering team, The Network Engineer is responsible for support and maintenance of the firm's WLAN, LAN and WAN environments. This position, with minimum supervision, will have a thorough understanding of firm technologies and systems as well as be able to understand both the business and technical requirements for new products that will be engineered and implemented by the group. This position works very closely with the team to manage and troubleshoot complex network infrastructure. Specific duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:Position responsibilities:Day to day technical support of network infrastructure at the firm's datacenters and at firm office premisesConfigure firm LAN, WLAN and WAN environmentsMonitor network performance and integrity; analyze trends and SLAsTroubleshoot/issuemanagementof firm network infrastructurePerform network maintenance, upgrades and refreshes in conjunction with change management and control policiesPerform wireless surveys, analyze results and remediationManage and support user remote accessProduce and analyze packet capturesDocument network designs, configurations, and troubleshooting proceduresWork with vendors as required to support network operations and upgradesAll other duties as assigned or requiredSkills and experience:Required:After orientation at Cooley LLP, exhibit proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite, iManage and other firm applicationsAbility to work extended and/or weekend hours, as required4+ years' direct applicable experience in network engineering and supportStrong proficiency with Cisco network switching and routing technologiesExperience troubleshooting enterprise wireless solutionsExperience with Firewall concepts and remote access VPNPreferred:Bachelor's degree, preferably in engineering or computer fieldExperience with Palo Alto Networks firewalls and Prisma CloudExperience with Cisco SD-WAN and Nexus technologiesExperience with Aruba Networks wireless infrastructureUnderstanding of AWS and Azure networking conceptsKnowledge of network automation using tools such as Terraform and PythonCisco, Palo Alto or Aruba certificationCompetencies:Excellent verbal and written communication skillsAbility to interface with cross-functional teams and stakeholdersStrong problem solving skillsAble to maintain a professional demeanor at all timesAbility to work effectively under pressureHigh level of organizational skillsCooley offers a competitive compensation and excellent benefits package and is committed to fair and equitable employment practices.EOE.The expected annual pay range for this position with a full-time schedule is $110,000 - $155,000.
