This is a hybrid role based in our Chicago or Bay Area (San Francisco or Palo Alto) offices and will require you to be in office Tuesdays and Thursdays.What’s so interesting about this role?The Senior SDET Engineer is responsible for architecting new automated test strategies and frameworks in addition to creating, implementing, and automating testing in support of software test requirements. The Senior SDET Engineer works with members from across all of engineering to develop, maintain, and enhance the test automation framework and automation addition, the Senior SDET Engineer will execute and report on planned tests, report and manage defects, regress software fixes for new and existing features, assist development with replicating and debugging problems and develop new test automation solutions as needed.What’s the job?Champion the quality of the product and strive for team goalsMaintain client-automated testing tools and increase automated test coverageCollaborate with coworkers to enhance existing client automation frameworks, compare alternative testing approaches, and build new systemsDevelop and enforce test coding patterns across the teamManage Grindr’s cloud testing tools and collaborate with their support teamsIncrease efficiency by listening to development feedback and ensuring test framework, execution, and reporting is streamlined and usefulMonitor, investigate, and identify problems during the development process, pair with client development to diagnose and test fixesContribute to team’s Agile effort by estimating, measuring and improving through active participation and providing feedback on quality issuesCoordinate and participate in discussions about holistic testing approaches with the development teams, so we have a balance of manual testing, UI automation testing, and unit testing coverageWhat we’ll love about youMinimum 5 years of experience in a mobile SDET roleExperience with mobile automation frameworks; including Espresso (Android), XCUITest (iOS), or AppiumStrong programming skills in an object oriented language (i.e. Kotlin, Swift, Java)Significant experience automating repeated tasks and building test coverage with existing toolsKnowledge of test methodologies, writing test plans, creating test cases and debuggingThorough understanding of the SDLC and tooling (GIT, branching/merging, build systems, CI tools and methodologies)Experience with API testing or integration ( REST APIs)Ability to prioritize multiple tasks, be self motivated, and be goal oriented is essential to excel in this roleStrong English verbal and written communication skillsWe’ll really swoon if you haveStrong programming skills with Swift or KotlinConsiderable experience with Espresso or XCUITest automationTrack record of delivering complex automation and new frameworksExtensive experience with various types of testing including unit, system, integration, user acceptance, regression, usability and end-to-end testingWhat you'll love about usMission and Impact: Grindr is the world-leading LGBTQ social networking service. This base pay range is for the U.S. and is not applicable to locations outside of the U.S. The actual base pay is dependent upon many factors, such as training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs, location, and market demands. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
