We offer benefits for all full-time employees and have been recognized on the 2023 Top Workplaces list for employee-reported success.Senior Systems Engineer – Unmanned SystemsThe Senior Systems Engineer works with the Design team to develop a variety of innovative Unmanned Systems for defense and commercial applications. This role interacts with Controls Engineers to allocate requirements and develop architectures to drive simulation models. Development efforts involve small focused design teams and require engineers to apply skills across traditional engineering, computer science, and mathematical disciplines. The role covers multiple stages of development including requirements definition, concept design, prototyping, detailed design, validation and verification testing.ResponsibilitiesManage requirements traceability and evolution through the system development cycleProvide weekly status of system development progress with requirements burn downAllocate requirements to subsystem and engineering coordinationEvaluate system performance thresholds and provide directionWork with Senior Staff Engineers in developing instrumented flight test vectors and data acquisitionProvide input for model development and simulation analysisReview and interpret customer specifications effectivelyIdentify, analyze, and resolve system design weaknesses; contribute to architecture framework used across multiple products or systemsAddress complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires evaluation of intangiblesExercise judgment in selecting methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for obtaining resultsDetermine methods and procedures on new assignments and coordinate activities of other personnel (Team Lead)Other duties as assignedBasic Qualifications (Required Skills & Experience)Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Computer Science/Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace, or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent8+ years of experience in a systems engineering role (Aerospace systems engineering preferred)Proficiency with C/C++ and MatlabExperience with requirements traceability and evolution through the system development cycleExperience providing weekly status of system development progress with requirements burn downExperience allocating requirements to subsystem and engineering coordinationExperience evaluating system performance thresholds and providing directionExperience developing instrumented flight test vectors and data acquisitionExperience providing input for model development and simulation analysisStrong Matlab skills and proficiency with office software and computer-based productivity toolsFamiliarity with electronics and systems related to image collection and analysisExperience developing systems test plans, procedures, and reports and interpreting specificationsExperience writing Systems Safety protocols and ensuring personnel safety during field testingOther Qualifications & Desired CompetenciesAdvanced degree preferredExperience taking a product from concept to production with contract manufacturers is a plusExposure to Guidance, Navigation and Control Systems and Modeling, Simulation & Control and Model-Based Systems Engineering is helpful but not requiredKnowledge of Simulink, Ansys and Solidworks preferredInterest in creating architectures using Model-Based Engineering toolsAbility to excel in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment with small teams sharing a broad variety of dutiesStrong initiative and drive to accomplish goals and meet company objectivesTakes ownership of current and past work productsCommitment to learning from mistakes and improving performanceEffective problem-solving, analytical, interpersonal and communication skillsDemonstrated teamwork and collaboration; prioritizes team successSalarySalary Range: $140,000-170,000 #J-18808-Ljbffr
