Overview The Director Enterprise Data and Integration Architect role at KPMG US is part of our Digital Nexus Organization. This is a hybrid work opportunity. Responsibilities Facilitate meaningful organizational change by researching data and integration technologies and defining technical strategies across portfolios, supporting an ability to reduce costs, increase efficiencies, provide more value and capabilities, reduce risks, and increase security; support the build of data and integration reference architectures and patterns Conduct research and participate in the development of data and integration roadmaps, which may include product selection, versions, upgrades, projects, and milestones Communicate data and integration best practices by giving presentations and authoring content aimed at educating others about standards, strategies, and defined best practices Assist in the evaluation of business demands in the early stages of projects to determine what data and integration software, technologies, architectures and patterns should be employed to meet business objectives efficiently; conduct evaluation of technology which may require a single solution or matrixed evaluation of multiple solutions through research, proof of concept, or scoped testing Provide solution level technical design and architectural leadership, including documenting and diagramming logical, physical, and process views across multiple technology domains Qualifications Minimum ten years of recent experience with IT Data and Integration Architecture supporting a SaaS and platform centric strategy and implementation cycle, with the ability to integrate in support of an enterprise Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited college or university is preferred Ability to effectively develop presentations and present ideas and proposals to all levels of management and technical expertise; deep knowledge of commonly used Enterprise Data Lake/Lakehouse and associated Integration tools (Azure Data Lake); solid knowledge of Service Oriented Architecture and Microservices best practices, Enterprise Service Bus platforms Strong understanding of Database Design Principles, Data Modeling and Data Warehousing including experience with SQL and NoSQL databases, Big Data technologies, industry leading Cloud Storage solutions, Business Intelligence platforms, dashboards, data mining and visualization tools (Power BI); deep understanding of Integration Architectures, including development and maintenance of API and Event standards, Data Architecture standards, System Integration standards and Governance Frameworks for managing a large and complex data and integration portfolio; proven ability to establish and manage a comprehensive Application Integration Architecture Blueprint and Roadmap for a global organization Proven ability to successfully implement Data and Integration Architectures into a complex organization including connecting on-premises and cloud-based applications globally such as ERP, CMDB, CRM, CMS and more; strong ability to guide and mentor project teams on data and integration technology, architecture, modeling and best practices; ability to optimize Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) practices and influence firm-wide development standards Familiarity with common system integration methods and technologies including web services, micro services, Simple Object Access Protocol (SOAP), JavaScript Object Notation (JSON), API gateways, MQ message and other messaging and streaming technologies and business process automation tools; fully competent in Continuous Integration and Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CICD) pipeline technologies and tooling for automated build, delivery and regression testing Compensation and Benefits KPMG complies with all local/state regulations regarding salary ranges.
