Olgoonik is an Equal Opportunity Employer The Senior Technical Security Specialist will serve as the technical subject matter expert (SME), providing support and education to personnel on technical security policy, procedures, and regulations in Germantown, MD. Primary Responsibilities: Conduct Technical Surveillance Countermeasures (TSCM), WiSec, PDS, TEMPEST services, inspections, conference security monitoring, preconstruction support, and other services as directed by the Department of Energy (DOE), in accordance with DOE and national policies, procedures, and laws. Provide technical security services to ensure DOE information security. Develop and deliver technical security training in classroom and field settings. Support DOE's technical standards program (TSP) to protect facilities, employees, and assets. Assist in developing and reviewing technical security designs for facilities. Review and provide input on proposed policies. Conduct needs surveys to prevent unauthorized access and disclosure of classified and sensitive information. Work effectively in team environments, either as a team lead or member. Prepare clear reports for each service to identify cost-effective strategies and security measures, in line with DOE and national policies. Stay informed on national and international developments in security technology, providing briefings and educational materials. Supervisory Responsibilities: Act as back-up to the Project Manager. Education and Experience: Undergraduate degree in IT, electronics, business, security, or related field preferred. Experience with Federal TSCM, TEMPEST, and CI certifications required. Graduation from a National Level Federal TSCM School required. Minimum 15 years of combined training and operational experience in TSCM/TS programs. At least one year of management or supervisory experience. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Knowledge of state-of-the-art technical equipment supporting DOE TSP. Thorough understanding of specialized equipment and countermeasures employment. Ability to communicate technical issues effectively to non-technical personnel. Proficiency in communicating with groups on technical and non-technical topics. Understanding of communication, IT systems, physical security, intelligence, counterintelligence, and espionage techniques. Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations: Maintain or acquire necessary certifications. Obtain and maintain DOE/National certifications as required. Security Clearance: Possess or be able to obtain a Q and TS clearance and SCI eligibility. Must be a U.S. citizen. May require counterintelligence evaluation and polygraph examination. Subject to background checks and drug testing as per regulations. Physical Demands: Must be able to perform physical activities such as standing, walking, sitting, handling objects, climbing stairs, balancing, stooping, kneeling, and working at heights, and lifting up to 70 pounds. Capable of working in adverse weather, confined spaces, and intense concentration. Travel: TBD Work Environment: General office setting.
