In this role, you will work closely with a team of data scientists, data engineers, and technical project managers and will collaborate with engineers and program managers.ResponsibilitiesDevelop, maintain, and run robust analytical models and dashboards for internal and external clientsBuild Python-based ETL pipelines in collaboration with other data scientists and project managersApply machine learning and regular expressions for fuzzy string matching and data reconciliationOwn the quality and accuracy of data analyses, working with data engineers and other team members to develop quality assurance systems and flag data errorsCommunicate and collect information from other staff, subcontractors, and clientsTranslate quantitative findings into clear, actionable insights for non-technical audiencesMentor and guide other members of the data analysis/engineering teamMinimum QualificationsBachelor/'s degree in a quantitative field (e.g., Statistics, Engineering, Computer Science, Economics) or equivalent experience5+ years of relevant work experience3+ years of hands-on Python experience, including pandas, NumPy, and scikit-learnProven professional experience developing dashboards using BI tools, preferably TableauExperience building analytical models using a high-level programming languageKnowledgeable about the applicability and limitations of metrics commonly used in descriptive and inferential statisticsCapable of working independently and collaborating effectively with technical as well as non-technical project managersAble to navigate multiple interrelated and simultaneous projectsAdapt at communicating technical concepts to non-technical audiencesStrong critical thinking and evidence-based reasoning skillsPreferred QualificationsDegree in Statistics, Mathematics, Physics, Economics, Operations Research, Engineering, a related quantitative field, or equivalent practical experienceProficiency with TableauKnowledge of basic data warehousing principles1+ years of experience with SQL, with demonstrated proficiencyExperienced in selecting and implementing machine learning techniques where appropriateDomain knowledge on topics such as economics, engineering, public policy, the electricity grid, regulations, building codes, building science, incentive programs, demand-side management, energy efficiency, distributed energy resources, electrification, space and water heating, and energy equityEnthusiastic about combating climate change and learning about clean energy and policyTeam player who thrives in collaborative environmentsHumility, empathy, and strong listening skillsCompensationCompensation to commensurate with experience with the pay band of $110k - $135k/Annually. Compensation is commensurate with experience and includes a generous retirement package.
