OverviewBack-end Engineer role at Booz Allen Hamilton International (U.K.) Ltd. Remote work: Yes. Location: Washington, DC, US. Job Number: R0225733.ResponsibilitiesAs a back-end developer, you’ll use the latest architectural approaches and open-source frameworks and tools to deliver solutions. You’ll develop and maintain the technology needed to power the components which enable the user-facing side of enterprise applications, design and implement data storage solutions, run performance testing and benchmarking, and optimize data performance. You’ll work with the development team to create custom tools, systems, and sites with consistent performance and scalability. You’ll identify potential risks, contribute to solution development, and build efficient and effective systems for Booz Allen’s clients.You will:Develop and maintain back-end systems and APIsConceptualize and implement data storage solutionsPerform performance testing, benchmarking, and optimizationCollaborate with the team to deliver scalable, reliable solutionsYou Have5+ years of experience in backend development and API designExperience in backend languages such as Python, Java, or Node.jsExperience with JavaScript, SQL, server-side development, middleware, API development, core application systems, Groovy, Scala, Spring Cloud, Spring Core, Spring-Boot, or Spring DataExperience writing source code for new applications or enhancing code samples for existing applicationsExperience with relational and NoSQL databases such as PostgreSQL and MongoDBExperience with CI/CD pipelines and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)Knowledge of OAuth2, JWT, and API key-based authenticationKnowledge of federal compliance frameworks such as FISMA or FedRAMPAbility to obtain and maintain a Public Trust or Suitability/Fitness determinationBachelor’s degreeNice If You HaveExperience on federal grant systems or public sector platformsExperience with cloud platforms including AWS GovCloud or Azure GovernmentKnowledge of Grants.gov, GrantSolutions.gov, or equivalent API and System-to-System integration protocolsKnowledge of SOAP APIs and legacy system integrationVettingApplicants selected will be subject to a government investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements of the U.S. government pensationSalary is determined by location, education, knowledge, skills, competencies, experience, contract-specific affordability, and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $62,000.00 to $141,000.00 (annualized USD). This posting will close within 90 days from the Posting Date.
