ResponsibilitiesLead a portfolio of diverse technology projects and a team of developers with deep experience in distributed microservices and full-stack systems to create solutions that help meet regulatory needs for the company.Share passion for staying on top of tech trends, experimenting with and learning new technologies, participating in internal and external technology communities, mentoring other engineers, and occasionally coding or evaluating code.Collaborate with digital product managers and deliver robust cloud-based solutions that empower millions of Americans to achieve financial empowerment.Utilize programming languages and technologies such as JavaScript, Java, HTML/CSS, TypeScript, SQL, Python, Go, Open Source RDBMS and NoSQL databases, container orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes), and AWS tools/services.Basic QualificationsBachelor’s DegreeAt least 6 years of software engineering experience (internship experience does not apply)At least 1 year of experience with cloud computing (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud)At least 4 years of people management experiencePreferred QualificationsMaster’s Degree9+ years of experience in at least one of: JavaScript, Java, TypeScript, SQL, Python, or Go3+ years of experience with AWS, GCP, Azure, or another cloud service4+ years of experience in open source frameworks7+ years of people management experience2+ years of experience in Agile practicesCapital One will consider sponsoring a new qualified applicant for employment authorization for this position.This role is eligible for performance-based incentive compensation, including cash bonuses and long-term incentives, which may be discretionary depending on the plan.Capital One offers a comprehensive, competitive, and inclusive set of health, financial and other benefits.
