Tempus' proprietary platform connects an entire ecosystem of real-world evidence to deliver real-time, actionable insights to physicians, providing critical information about the right treatments for the right patients, at the right time.We are looking for a highly motivated and capable senior bioinformatics scientist with extensive experience and interest in developing cutting edge assays and algorithms in the liquid biopsy space (including molecular residual disease testing, therapeutic response monitoring, therapy selection, complete genomic profiling, and diagnostics).ResponsibilitiesDevelop novel assays, algorithms, machine learning and statistical models to detect oncology-related biomarkers from cell free next-generation sequencing (NGS) dataDesign and conduct analyses applying deep genomic and epigenomic knowledge to derive key insights from large multi-modal datasetsDesign and execute experiments to characterize performance and support various regulatory submissions.Produce high-quality and detailed documentation for all municate results with other scientific teams as well as product and bioinformatics leadership.Lead, mentor and/or train other scientists and engineersQualificationsMust have completed a Ph.D. in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Cancer Biology, Genetics, Immunology, Molecular Biology, or Computer ScienceAt least 5-10 years of industry or academic experienceComputational skills using Python and/or RProven scientific reputation as demonstrated by scientific publication and/or contribution to successful product development in industryExpertise in developing NGS pipelines using contemporary tools for processing and analyzing NGS data (including epigenetics, DNA, RNA) within a high-performance computing environmentIn-depth knowledge of creating statistical models and developing predictive or prognostic algorithmsDemonstrated effective communication and presentation skillsSelf-driven and works well in interdisciplinary teamsCHI: $100,000-$160,000NYC/SF: $115,000-$175,000The expected salary range above is applicable if the role is performed from California and may vary for other locations (Colorado, Illinois, New York). Actual salary may vary based on qualifications and experience.
