OverviewStaff Software Engineer, Post-Ad Click Experience, Level 6 at Snap Inc.We are seeking an exceptional Staff Software Engineer to spearhead our post-click initiatives. In this pivotal role, you will lead the charge in defining, designing, and implementing the next generation of our post-click platform, with a focus on improving the native browser and empowering web developers. You will have a profound impact on user engagement and advertiser ROI.What you’ll doDefine the technical roadmap and vision for our post-ad click experience, identifying key opportunities and challenges.Lead efforts to integrate and optimize our custom browser engine into our native mobile applications (iOS and Android).Drive dramatic improvements in rendering web pages and content within our in-app browser, focusing on metrics like page load times, rendering efficiency, and resource utilization. Profile performance problems and drive optimizations across the browser engine and mobile application software stacks.Design, architect, and build new and innovative application experiences for the in-app browser that are seamless, engaging, and highly performant, bridging ad clicks and desired user actions.Develop sophisticated algorithms to intelligently drive traffic, predict user intent, and capture nuanced user interactions for deeper analytical insights.Lead the design and implementation of scalable, reliable, and performant backend and frontend systems to support post-click initiatives, including building reusable browser software components interfacing with back-end platforms.Partner closely with Product Managers, Data Scientists, UX Designers, and other engineering teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions.Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and guidance to junior and mid-level engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous improvement.Knowledge, Skills & AbilitiesExcellent programming and software design skills, including debugging, performance analysis, and test design.Proven track record of operating highly-available systems at scale.Ability to proactively learn new concepts and technology and apply them at work.Skilled at solving ambiguous problems.Strong collaboration and mentorship skills.Ads domain expertise and a strong interest in Ads.Minimum Qualifications9+ years of professional software development experience, with emphasis on large-scale distributed systems, web technologies, and/or mobile application development.Experience with web browser development, including building and deploying new features at scale in a browser engine or browser.Deep expertise in performance optimization for web and/or mobile applications, particularly in browser rendering, network optimization, and resource management.Experience developing, debugging, and shipping software products on large codebases spanning platforms and tools.Experience debugging performance and reliability issues on browser engines.Solid understanding of data structures, algorithms, and distributed systems design principles.Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.Bachelor/'s or Master/'s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent years of experience.Preferred QualificationsExperience in technical leadership/ownership and setting technical direction for engineering projects.Ability to develop and apply sophisticated algorithms (e.g., machine learning, optimization) to real-world problems.Proven track record of delivering large-scale projects in attribution and measurement.Experience operating highly-available systems at significant scale.Familiarity with ad tech ecosystem, user acquisition, or conversion pensationIn the United States, work locations are assigned a pay zone which determines the salary range. The starting pay is based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, location, and market conditions and may be negotiable within the salary range. Zone A (CA, WA, NYC): $229,000-$343,000; Zone B: $218,000-$326,000; Zone C: $195,000-$292,000.
