We're seeking a visionary Design System Engineer to bridge the gap between design and engineering, creating a seamless experience for both our users and developers.As a Design System Engineer, you'll be at the forefront of modern frontend development, crafting a robust, scalable design system that powers our web, mobile, and desktop applications. You'll collaborate closely with world-class designers and engineers to bring our design language to life through code. Your work will directly impact the needs of servicemen and women on the battlefield, contributing to building a stronger, more secure nation.WHAT YOU'LL DODesign, and implement our next-gen design system and component library in ReactDevelop automation tools to migrate our legacy applications to the new design systemExpand the design system to mobile and desktop platforms, ensuring a cohesive experience across all devicesSupport and mentor fellow engineers on frontend engineering best practicesREQUIRED QUALIFICATIONSBachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field; or equivalent industry experienceStrong experience with React and modern frontend development practicesDeep understanding of design systems, component libraries, and design tokensExperience with headless component libraries and the ability to style them effectivelyStrong skills in developing automation tools for codebase migrationsHigh empathy for your fellow engineers (our customers)Minimum 3 years of frontend development experienceU.S. Person status is required as this position needs to access export controlled dataPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSHave a bias for action and taking ownership. You have a track record of solving a problem if you see one.Strong design sense and ability to collaborate effectively with designersExperience with design system implementation across multiple platformsFamiliarity with tools like Figma for design collaborationExperience with mobile and desktop app developmentExperience with mapping libraries such as Cesium, Mapbox or Open LayersUS Salary Range: $168,000 - $252,000 USDThe salary range for this role is an estimate based on a wide range of compensation factors, inclusive of base salary only. Actual salary offer may vary based on (but not limited to) work experience, education and/or training, critical skills, and/or business considerations.
