We seek high achievers eager to join a dynamic, diverse, and engaging team.Summary:Calyxo is looking for a skilled and innovative Imaging Science Engineer responsible for designing, testing, and analyzing endoscope camera and illumination systems. The ideal candidate will lead optical design and evaluate image and video quality for endoscopic systems, supporting existing products and developing next-generation technologies. The role involves ensuring compliance with industry standards and aligning with business This Role, You Will:Design optical systems for endoscopy cameras and illumination, analyzing their imaging performance.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define image and video quality requirements.Develop optical testing methodologies for manufacturing processes.Work with clinical and product teams to improve visualization based on user anize design reviews to optimize imaging performance across devices and interfaces.Create and maintain design documents, test protocols, and reports.Conduct verification testing and manage risks.Engage with suppliers for root cause analysis and continuous improvement.Maintain an optical testing lab in compliance with quality standards.Contribute to visualization technology roadmap and research.Promote a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.Collaborate on bringing prototypes to market.Mentor junior engineers and foster teamwork.Who You Will Report To:Director, Vision & Sensor SystemsRequirements:MS in Imaging Science, Optical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or related; PhD preferred, with 4+ years in camera and illumination system development.Expertise in optical analysis, standards compliance, and colorimetry.Hands-on experience with optical testing and analysis tools.Knowledge of photometric/radiometric analysis and relevant software (e.g., Imatest, Python).Proficiency with optical design software (ZEMAX, SolidWorks preferred).Experience managing external vendors and development projects.Strong problem-solving and communication skills.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Knowledge of regulatory requirements (FDA, ISO 13485, MDD).Willingness to travel up to 10%, on-site work in Pleasanton, CA.What We Offer:Join a knowledgeable, high-achieving team in a diverse environment with leadership committed to growth and innovation.
