PostgreSQL Database Developer

OverviewCGS is seeking a PostgreSQL Database Developer to join our team supporting a rapidly growing Data Analytics and Business Intelligence platform focused on providing data solutions for federal customers. You will support a migration from the current Oracle database to a Postgres database and manage the database environments proactively, playing a key role in ensuring scalability of our data systems.Base pay range: $106,773.33/yr - $144,906.66/yrEmployment Type: Full Time, Experienced levelDepartment: Information TechnologyResponsibilitiesDrive efforts to migrate from the current Oracle database to the new Microsoft Azure Postgres databaseCreate and maintain technical documentation using defined templates and gain in-depth knowledge of the business data to propose and implement effective solutionsCollaborate with internal and external parties to transform high-level technical objectives into comprehensive technical requirementsEnsure the availability and performance of the databases, providing sufficient resources to support high resilience and speedPerform and assist developers in performance tuningProactively monitor database systems to ensure secure services with minimal downtime and manage rollouts, patching, and upgradesWork within a structured and Agile development approachQualificationsBachelor/'s degreeMust be US Citizenship7 years of experience administering PostgreSQL databases in Linux environmentsExperience setting up, monitoring, and maintaining PostgreSQL instancesExperience implementing and maintaining PostgreSQL backup and disaster recovery processesExperience migrating Oracle schema, packages, views, triggers to Postgres using Ora2Pg toolIdeally, you will also haveExperience implementing and maintaining data warehousesExperience with AWS RDS for PostgreSQLExperience with Oracle databasesExperience leveraging the Ora2Pg toolExperience with cloud environments such as Azure and/or AWSPrior federal consulting experienceOur CommitmentCGS strives to simplify and enhance government processes by optimizing human, technical, and financial resources.
