Our growth is driven by forward-thinking technology; Jerry.ai is gaining attention for its GenAI initiatives.About the opportunityWe are seeking a purpose-driven Senior Backend Engineer to work on a critical, stealth project on the DriveShield team to enhance driver safety and make a real-world impact on the lives of millions.You will play a key role in building scalable and high-performance backend systems that power Jerry.ai’s explosive growth. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute as we scale from 5M to 50M customers and disrupt a $2T market.How you will make an impactFocus on non-functional requirements of backend applications, including service availability, scalability, reliability (fault tolerance), observability, and securityOversee system design and architecture to ensure robust and scalable solutionsDevelop and optimize real-time data processing applications using Kafka and FlinkProfile and optimize application performanceCollaborate with data scientists to deploy and integrate models in productionHandle data processing, sanitization, validation, and data QARequirements5+ years of software engineering experienceProficient in at least one core language (Java, Python, Go, JavaScript)Expertise in Kafka Streams, Flink, or similar real-time data processing frameworksExperience building real-time data processing applicationsProven track record of shipping products and features rapidlyStartup experience at a high-growth company (nice to have)Bonus: knowledge of working with geospatial dataOur tech stackJava and sometimes PythonStream processing: Kafka and FlinkHosting infra: AWSEEO and accommodationsJerry.ai is an Equal Employment Opportunity employer.
