Join to apply for the Tax Manager role at Novogradac & Company LLP.Novogradac & Company LLP is searching for a Tax Manager to join our fast-growing firm. The Tax Manager will manage tax assignments as designated by the Principal or Partner. The Manager should function with minimal supervision, with emphasis on supervising and mentoring Staff and Senior Accountants, independent problem solving, strengthening and developing client relationships and increasing office profitability. Some positions at Novogradac may be open to remote or hybrid work arrangements depending on business needs. Please discuss available options with your recruiter.Your Contributions And ResponsibilitiesAssume primary responsibility for client engagements, including planning, staffing, timing, technical issues and other decisions. Oversee completion of engagements, including identifying and solving problem areas during the engagement, with minimal oversight or assistanceConduct thorough engagement reviewsSupervise and mentor Supervisors, Senior Accountants and Staff, including guiding and educating them in technical areas, identifying professional development opportunities and maintaining a respectful team atmosphereComplete annual performance evaluations for assigned staff and manage employee performance conversationsAssist Principals and Partners with identifying, meeting with and pursuing new clientsFind opportunities to turn acquired technical knowledge into high value-added opportunities for Firm clientsPromote the Firm’s image by participating on conference panels, contributing to Firm publications, attending recruiting events, conducting in-house and client trainings, etc.Demonstrate an understanding of the value of enhancing the Novogradac brand by fostering collegial relationships with all Partners, employees, clients and prospects of the FirmDevelop, strengthen and grow client relationships through professionalism, responsiveness and service-oriented approachEnhance skills in the industries the Firm focuses on by seeking out and completing training coursesIncrease office profitability by managing your time and the time of Staff and Senior Accountants efficiently, contributing ideas and adding valueOther duties and projects as assignedYour Background and SkillsBachelor’s degree, preferably in accounting or finance (advanced degree is a plus), and 3-7+ years of experience in public accounting and/or appropriate balance of education and work experience.CPA license required.Exhibit expert understanding of accounting and tax rulesExcellent verbal and written communication skillsDemonstrate a level of intellectual curiosityConsistently demonstrate strong personal, technical and professional judgmentPerform work accurately and in a time-efficient manner with strong attention to detailStrong organizational and follow-through skillsAbility to effectively prioritize a fast-paced and varied workload, effectively manage a variety of concurrent and shifting prioritiesAbility to accept constructive feedback from Partner group and make adjustments as directedAbility to work collaboratively and foster a productive, team-oriented environmentStrong computer skills, including solid skill in the Microsoft Office suite (particularly Excel) and report writing toolsMaintain a professional demeanor with coworkers and clientsAble to gain the confidence of the existing Partner groupAbility to meet internal Firm deadlines (time entry, billing, etc.)Available to work evenings and weekends based on position needs and to travel domestically if requiredWhy work with us?Novogradac is committed to fostering a welcoming workplace where all employees feel valued and empowered to grow.
