We can’t wait to meet you!Responsibilities:Develop and maintain predictive models to solve complex problems in risk segmentation, reserving, claims, and litigationUse advanced modeling techniques to evaluate historical loss performance for portfolios, identify key performance indicators, predict future loss cost and develop actionable strategiesResearch on latest modeling techniques and innovative features to improve existing modelsClearly and effectively communicate actuarial results to external audiences including senior managementWork with operations and product management teams to ensure risk/insurance aware business decisionsPursues professional development in the actuarial profession through rigorous self-study and successful completion of actuarial exams, with advancement toward the ultimate goal of FCASExperience:Bachelor or equivalent degree in Actuarial Science, Math, Statistics, Data Science, Economics, or similar3+ years of experience in the P&C actuarial field (flexible scheduling during exam preparation and continuing education support for FCAS; we want to be part of your career development!)Experience with SQL and Python (or R) is required and experience in distributed computing (Spark) is a plusWorking knowledge with GithubExperience with modeling, pricing or reservingPersonal or commercial auto insurance experience requiredGreat communication and presentation skillsStrong organization and time management skillsBalance attention to detail with fast-pace Lyft environmentPassionate about actuarial science and eager to learn and grow Highly innovativeBenefits:Great medical, dental, and vision insurance options with additional programs available when enrolledMental health benefitsFamily building benefitsChild care and pet benefits401(k) plan to help save for your futureIn addition to 12 observed holidays, salaried team members have discretionary paid time off, hourly team members have 15 days paid time off18 weeks of paid parental leave. Salary ranges are dependent on a variety of factors, including qualifications, experience and geographic location. Range is not inclusive of potential equity offering, bonus or benefits.
