Senior AccountantTHE ROLE:NextGen America is seeking a dynamic, detail-oriented and proactive Senior Accountant to be an integral part of the Accounting team. This role will be responsible for full-cycle accounting, including managing the general ledger, accounts payable, payroll, credit card statements and cash flow. We encourage candidates from all locations within the United States to apply.FLSA Classification: ExemptRemote Position: YesUnion Position: NoTravel Requirements: Less than 10%WHAT YOU’LL ACHIEVE:Responsible for day-to-day management of the general ledger including reconciliations, entering journal entries, and ensuring proper revenue recognitionDrive the month-end close process, including cash and credit card reconciliations, balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring accounting schedules are accurate and adjusting journal entriesSupporting monthly intercompany allocations processSupport year-end processes, including tax and 1099 filingsSupport annual audits including financial, 401k and workers comp auditsOversee semi-monthly payroll processingMonitoring of account payable systems and ensuring items are processed in timely manner and in accordance with policies and proceduresAssist with training supporting staffReview and process invoices and reimbursement requestsReview credit card transactions and manage receipt collectionsCollaborate with internal and external personnel for the purpose of implementing and/or maintaining programs and reporting expendituresProvide support in explaining policy and procedures to staffProvide support in financial reportingPerform other duties as assignedABOUT YOU:Strong knowledge of GAAP, nonprofit accounting and applicable federal and state lawsStrong understanding of accounting principles and financial reportingExcellent organizational and multitasking skillsExcellent attention to detail and high level of accuracyAdvanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel / Google SheetsBackground in or knowledge of finance and accountingStrong analytical skills and some experience in financial modelingAbility to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and thrive in a fast paced environmentWillingness to work long hours, when necessaryAbility to adhere to the highest standards of confidentialityComfortable working remotely in a highly collaborative distributed workforce settingCOMPENSATION:Salary range for this position is $70,000 - $80,000.
