Job DescriptionWGL - Advisor, Community InvestmentWGL is seeking a dynamic, self-startingAdvisor, Community Investment where you’ll play a pivotal role in bringing WGL’s mission to life through meaningful community engagement. Reporting to the Senior Manager, you’ll help shape and execute a proactive strategy that strengthens our reputation and deepens our impact across the communities we this dynamic role, you’ll collaborate with internal teams and external partners to drive charitable giving, employee volunteerism, and community partnership activations. From managing grant processes and charitable relationships to organizing events and gathering impact data, you’ll be at the heart of our social investment efforts—helping us tell a powerful story of purpose and progress.What You’ll Do:Build and maintain strong relationships with community stakeholders to enhance corporate citizenship and social responsibilityRecommend strategic investment and engagement opportunities aligned with business goals, industry best practices, and social impact outcomesManage the full lifecycle of grants and sponsorships, including intake, evaluation, processing, and paymentsLead the corporate volunteer program and design meaningful employee volunteer opportunitiesPlan and support internal employee engagement eventsAdminister and support platforms like Benevity and VersaicAssist with budget management to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and funding allocationsPrepare reports, presentations, and materials for strategic planning, ESG, and social impact reportingEvaluate the effectiveness of community investments and their impact on company reputation and relationshipsDevelop internal and external communications to showcase community investment outcomesSupport the administration of the scholarship programMaintain a calendar of community engagement events and track stakeholder engagement and outcomesParticipate in enterprise-wide community investment meetings to contribute to strategy and executionRepresent the company at both internal and external eventsWho You Are: 5+ years of relevant experience in community investment or nonprofit developmentStrong understanding of social impact best practices, employee engagement, and U.S. regulatory guidelines for corporate philanthropy and sponsorshipsProven ability to work collaboratively while demonstrating integrity, resourcefulness, and a commitment to service excellenceInnovative mindset with a comfort for iterative processes and continuous improvementConfident public speaker with strong presentation abilitiesPassionate about community service with a solid understanding of business operations and strategyBachelor’s degree in Business, Public Relations, Communications, Marketing, Political Science, or a related fieldExperience with Benevity and/or Versaic (considered an asset)Why Join?Shape a growing program and make a differenceJoin a passionate team that values innovation, integrity, and impactYou’ll be part of a company that’s not only performing—but transformingWe offer a competitive salary range of $94,000 to $136,000 per year, commensurate with experience, education, and skills.
