Director of Technical Accounting

A leading publicly traded government contractor based in the Washington DC area is seeking a Director of Technical Accounting to join its growing team. This individual will play a key role in overseeing the technical review of complex transactions, managing and updating accounting policies, and supporting the adoption of new accounting standards.Ideal candidates will have a strong background in government contracting, with deep knowledge of revenue recognition, goodwill, intangibles, and other intricate accounting matters. The Director will be instrumental in driving the technical accounting function while fostering a high-performing team environment.Requirements include a CPA with 8–10+ years of experience—preferably including time at a Big 6 firm—and a solid foundation in technical accounting within a public company setting. This is a hybrid position requiring on-site presence for team-building, with a work-from-home component.
