We provide high-end technical services, research and development, and prototype solutions to some of the country's most challenging technical problems.All Riverside Research opportunities require U.S. Citizenship.Position OverviewAs a member of the Riverside Research Leadership team, the Corporate Controller works closely with the CFO and collaboratively across the organization to oversee all financial reporting, internal controls, and accounting operations in support of the business. We look to our Corporate Controller to continuously drive improvement by not only anticipating internal and external reporting needs, but also to identify opportunities within Riverside to evolve the support provided to the business.The culture at Riverside Research is forward leaning, performance driven, and mission focused. Our Corporate Controller not only needs to exemplify these qualities,but also inspire and nurture the same in his or her team.This position offers a hybrid working arrangements, with four (4) days required onsite in our Fairfax, Virginia headquarters.All Riverside Research opportunities require U.S. Citizenship.ResponsibilitiesPrepare financial statements in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)Lead a team of 6 Accountants to oversee accounting functions, including the general ledger, financial close processes, and cost accountingEnsure accurate and efficient transaction processing in compliance with company policiesManage various external financial audits; Consolidated Financial Statement, OMB Single Audit and various DCAA AuditsCoordinate the preparation of Annual Form 990 Tax return, related schedules and supporting documentation for timely submissionPrepare the annual Incurred Cost SubmissionManage and comply with local, state, and federal tax and government reporting requirements; as well as assist with resolving any tax discrepancies.Periodically, review and test Policies and Procedures to ensure conformanceManage, mentor, inspire and lead the department staff to promote professional developmentWorking with the CFO, Business Unit VP's, and Department Directors, support transformation initiatives identifying and implementing department and operating related process and system improvements to simplify, standardize and streamline accounting and financial reporting activitiesQualificationsRequired Qualifications:CPA LicenseBachelor's degree or higher in Accounting or Finance12-15 years of progressive experience in Government Contract AccountingDemonstrated success in leading, managing and developing teamsAbility to manage multiple tasks while maintaining timelines and quality of workAbility to effectively communicate and interact with multiple levels of management as well as across the organizationExcellent analytical and problem-solving skillsStrong knowledge and proven experience in GAAP, FAR, CAS and Not-For-Profit AccountingAdvanced experience in Deltek Costpoint and Business Intelligence ReportingDesired Qualifications:MBA a plusPrior experience in a business operating environmentExperience with Microsoft Outlook, PowerPoint and TEAMSGlobal Comp$000000 - $000000 This represents the typical compensation range for this position based on experience, location and other factors.Closing StatementRiverside Research Institute is a not-for-profit, technology-oriented defense company, where service to our customers and support of our staff is our overall mission.
