Working with a team of Finance, Investor, and Business Analysts in Phoenix and San Francisco, this person will play a key role in maintaining all Operational accounting tasks and records for Upgrade. The ideal candidate will also work closely with multiple Upgrade company departments to identify all necessary accruals, verify accuracy, and make recommendations to streamline current accounting processes and procedures. Candidate will have interaction with senior leadership regarding expense classification and profitability metrics and must be capable of delivering high-quality deliverables, on time, with careful attention to detail.This role will be based in our San Francisco office in a hybrid capacity.What You’ll Do:Own month-end close activities related to loan accounting, revenue recognition, and associated reconciliationsMaintain and improve schedules for loan portfolios, servicing fees, interest income, loan sales and reservesEnsure accurate and timely financial reporting in compliance with GAAPBuild and refine Excel-based workpapers, using advanced functions such as VLOOKUPs, INDEX-MATCH, and PivotTables to analyze and present dataPartner with cross-functional teams (Product, Operations, Engineering) to streamline processes and investigate variancesAssist in audits and management reportingAssist in data validation for migration of loans over to new servicing systemSupport ad hoc analysis and special projects as neededWhat We Look For:Minimum of 3+ years of experience in public accounting OR 2+ years of corporate accounting experienceBachelor’s degree in Accounting or FinanceExcellent Excel skills including vlookups, pivot tables and complex formulasFamiliarity with ERP/Accounting systems (NetSuite, Floqast, )Team-player with superior interpersonal skills who can work closely with both accounting teams and cross-functionally with relevant stakeholdersEffective written, verbal and interpersonal communication skillsSense of ownership and responsibility towards problems and solutionsDemonstrated ability to adapt quickly and smoothly to a rapidly changing environmentSelf-starter with a continuous improvement mindsetNice to Have:Strong knowledge of GAAP and experience with loan accounting principles a plusWhat We Offer You:Competitive salary and stock option plan100% paid coverage of medical, dental and vision insuranceFlexible PTOCompetitive 401(k) and RRSP programOpportunities for professional growth and developmentPaid parental leaveHealth & wellness initiativesThe compensation range of this position in San Francisco, CA is USD $70,000-$85,000 annually plus equity and benefits.
