Join the team to apply for the Accounting Manager/ Senior Accounting Manager position.Position SummaryThis position is a key role within the Finance group that supports various aspects of finance and accounting. The successful candidate will have strong GAAP knowledge and a proven track record in general accounting. The role blends operational, reporting and strategic initiatives, including day-to-day core accounting responsibilities (e.g., reconciliations, close process) and process optimization as the company grows from a research and development-focused organization into a clinical and potentially commercial one. The position requires a solid accounting background with strong analytical skills, familiarity with general ledger activities, journal entries, international operations, intercompany transactions and account reconciliations.ResponsibilitiesAssist and support the Controller with the month-end close, including preparation and review of monthly schedules for balance sheet reconciliation and other areas requiring judgment.Perform equity administration tasks including grant uploads, participant tracking, and stock-based compensation calculations.Assist with post-close activities by working with FP&A to explain variances and fluctuations in financial results.Assist with the annual and quarterly audit process, including schedule creation, document preparation, and project management of external auditors.Act as quality control for completeness of controls before finalizing evidence for external parties.Help create and maintain processes to strengthen internal controls within the Finance team; recommend control changes and enhancements as needed.Assist with preparation of certain disclosure schedules for SEC reporting (e.g., 10-Q, 10-K, proxy statements).Perform ad-hoc projects to improve procedures, efficiency and accuracy.Work with technical accounting to ensure correct accounting treatment and implement operational aspects of collaboration arrangements and other business deals needing technical accounting analysis.Help develop scalability initiatives as the company grows and coach accounting team members.Assist in identifying and implementing new systems, upgrades and automation of accounting processes.Minimum QualificationsBachelor’s degree required; strong preference for accounting degree with corporate accounting experience.Accounting Manager: 6–8+ years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with 4+ years of relevant experience (preferably in the Life Science industry).Senior Accounting Manager: 8–10+ years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with 6+ years of relevant experience (preferably in the Life Science industry).Ability to manage a high volume of data accurately and efficiently.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Proven success collaborating with internal and external business partners.Motivated, focused, and able to work independently in a dynamic environment.Preferred QualificationsIdeal candidate has a mix of public and industry accounting experience.Experience working in a global consolidating environment.Experience with Oracle Fusion or equivalent ERP petenciesCollaborative – openness, One Team.Undaunted – fearless, can-do attitude.Results orientation – delivering progress toward our mission with a sense of urgency.Entrepreneurial spirit – proactive, ownership pany information and equal employment opportunityCRISPR Therapeutics believes in fostering a dynamic workplace that balances remote work flexibility with in-person collaboration.
