The CFO will oversee all financial and business operations, ensure fiscal integrity, safeguard assets, and provide leadership to sustain long-term financial health. The CFO will partner with the CEO, Board, and program leaders to align financial strategy with organizational priorities and foster accountability, transparency, and operational excellence.Key ResponsibilitiesThe Chief Financial Officer will provide leadership and oversight across all aspects of financial management and operations, including:Strategic & Fiscal LeadershipLead financial strategy, annual budgets, forecasts, and long-range planning in alignment with the mission and state contract requirements.Provide strategic counsel to the CEO and Board on fiscal planning, risk management, and resource allocation.Financial Operations & ComplianceDirect accounting functions, accounts payable/receivable, balance sheet management, and monthly/annual closings.Oversee regulatory reporting, audits, and compliance with contractual, state, and federal requirements (including Medicaid billing policies and Annex A/B under the DMAHS Contract Manual).Ensure timely and accurate preparation of financial statements and reports for executive leadership and the Board.Operational ManagementOversee payroll, employee benefit plans, insurance coverage, procurement, leasing, and vendor relations.Manage corporate risk, including insurance claims, fiscal audits, and ERISA compliance for retirement plans.Maintain effective financial policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulatory mandates.Leadership & GovernanceSupervise and mentor finance staff; attend Board meetings as part of Finance Committee and CFO CMO Committee.Act as a visible ambassador of Caring Partners’ mission in relationships with families, providers, vendors, and community stakeholders.Candidate Profile / Required QualificationsThe successful candidate will bring a blend of technical expertise, leadership acumen, and mission alignment, including:Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business required; Master’s preferred.Minimum of 5 years of senior-level accounting or finance leadership in the non-profit sector.Demonstrated expertise in:Managing state and federal contracts and Medicaid billing compliance.Leading audits and maintaining fiscal health in a census-driven environment.Negotiating contracts, benefit plans, and insurance programs.Serving as fiduciary for 401(k) plans.Experience managing budgets of $5–10M or larger.Strong business and finance acumen with a forward-thinking, solutions-oriented mindset.Technology-savvy with experience in accounting/finance software and openness to new tools.Exceptional interpersonal, communication, organizational and leadership skills; detail oriented and strategic.Strong supervisory experience with the ability to lead, mentor, and inspire high-performing teams.Ethical, collaborative, and mission-driven, balancing financial stewardship and community impact.Preferred QualificationsFamiliarity with RFPs and CARF accreditation.Experience with MS Office, SAGE/Peachtree, Primepoint, and Crystal Reports.Caring Partners offers a competitive compensation package and a comprehensive benefits program designed to support employee well-being and professional growth, including:Medical, dental, and vision insurance401(k) retirement plan with employer contributionsLong-term disability and AD&D coverageGenerous paid time off programWhy Join Us?This is a rare opportunity to bring financial leadership to a mission-centered organization making a profound impact on children and families.
